Tai Tzu Ying should have just won the game in straight sets. As she let the game slipped away from he in the second set, it is so difficult to catch up in the third set already.
And finally congratulations to Akane Yamaguchi for winning the WS title. She played so well to win the title today. Pity that Tai Tzu Ying lose focus in the second set and could not convert the winning point after that.
One of the quietest WS matches. Neither of the players celebrated their winners. Yamaguchi so demure even after winning...
Akane Yamaguchi is the JPN WS1 now, no doubt about it. She makes a decisive break to start ascending the summit. Excellent job.
Yamaguchi is so humble.. Her coaches asked her to celebrate still she was quite shy about it... I love the fact that she overcame her shortcoming - her height- and beat the strongest players. It's tough to play against her in three setters. Her perpetual clears are lethal and defy the concepts of singles play. Big fan of her. Always was, but more from today.
Okay I received the latest news that says Lee Chong Wei is down with a right leg hamstring injury. He said that he will get his right leg hamstring injury rtreated before he competes in French Open next week. He said that he had felt the excruciating pain coming when he played versus Brice Leverdez in the quarter finals. I can only wish him a speedy recovery.
http://www.thestar.com.my/sport/bad...-shem-tan-wee-kiong-in-final-in-denmark-open/ ODENSE (Denmark): Shuttler Lee Chong Wei has vowed to return to his best form after suffering a shock men’s quarter-finals loss at the Denmark Open. The world No. 1 was surprisingly beaten 17-21, 22-20, 19-21 by world No. 38 Brice Leverdez of France in a 77-minute clash at the Odense Sports Park on Friday. It was 30-year-old Leverdez’s first win over Chong Wei in seven meetings. Leverdez however, could not ride on the momentum of his best-career win when he went down to Thailand’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk 9-21, 13-21 in Saturday’s semi-finals. Chong Wei, who celebrated his 34th birthday on Friday, said he would get back on his feet at the French Open in Paris on Wednesday. He added that he would seek treatment for the hamstring injury on his right leg. At the French Open, top seed Chong Wei will take on Hsu Jen-hao of Taiwan in the first round. The others in Chong Wei’s top half of the draw are Son Wan-ho of South Korea, China’s Tian Houwei and Shi Yuqi, compatriot Iskandar Zulkarnain and K. Srikanth of India.
Wuhooo AY is in some form ahah.. In the absence of LXR, SN, RI and the Wangs ( now retired) WS looked weak for the first time in past few years. But its really good to see how AY is making all these opportunities count, way too go girl.
