Looking at how the score pans out, it's like a pendulum, first one way, then the other, and back again. Really hope to catch it on youtube later if available. This result confirms why LYB selected her for the Uber Cup over the more experienced and older Han Li and Liu Xin.
They had better! They have never met before and one is a fairly humongous girl who plays like Chen Long while the other is petite, balletic (in Gillian's words), and which male player is IR most akin to...LCW? The first match-up between the female CL and LCW - sign me up for that, please!
Among the big scalps Sun Yu has collected so far are Saina, Sindhu(twice), Liu Xin and, today, Sung JH. Let's see if she can include Intanon R tomorrow.

In the end, Kevin/Selvanus lost to Lee/Tsai. Looking forward Kevin's next appearance in international tourney at least GP level. Wish Kevin also continue playing XD in addition to MD Hard day. Big casualties for home crowd. Indonesia just have 3 representatives in QF
Despite of the shabby selection of TV matches in the Round of 16, the organizers show enough sense to put SY vs IR on the TV court. Get ready
Hu Yun used delaying tactics in the rubber game for an 'injury' and caused Simon Santoso to lose his momentum and therefore the match. The commentator was very negative about the so called injury and felt that Hu Yun was bending the rule for the time out to gain an unfair advantage.
He played it to his advantage like when Daren Liew used to use injury time out for a cut on his pinky in French Open 2012 I think.
Are you saying Hu Yun faked injury to buy time and have a much needed rest? It could be that he really felt a twitch on his knee and at that moment thought it necessary to seek some medical attention to play safe, just that it took the umpire quite a while to understand what he was trying to say. But why didn't Simon or his coaches protest there and then or afterwards? Maybe it was a breather that he himself appreciated, bearing in mind that Hu Yun is 33 yrs old while Simon is 29, not young either. Furthermore, Simon is an experienced veteran who, I supposed, has seen all kinds of situations and should be able to handle it, the effect,if any, would be minimal or insignificant. To say that it "caused Simon to lose his momentum", I agree but still only Simon can say if that was really the case, but for you then to conclude that it therefore caused him to lose the match, I'm afraid, it doesn't necessarily follow, it may not be a valid argument. "Accidents" or unforeseen situations happen sometimes, such as leaking roof, audience using camera flashes, shuttlecock dropping in from the adjacent court, the opponent trips and falls and the court needs to be mopped, opponent requests to towel down and the umpire allows, a bird/butterfly flies into the arena and has to be chased off, the umpire's scorecard stops working, the electronic scoreboard suddenly fails and need fixing, player has a cut on his pinky or grazes his arm which requires medical attention, the list goes on - such things happen and the players just have to deal with it. Actually, it's up to the umpire to judge, exercise his discretion and act accordingly. As for the players, just have to stay calm, keep focused, and get on with it. Look what happened to Zhang/Zhao in the XD match yesterday - the opponent's double hit occurred at a critical time on deuce, apparently the umpire didn't see it, the opponent who committed the fault didn't acknowledge it, so they protested, but to no avail; thank goodness, it wasn't a crucial match or the consequences may be very bad. No point discussing it now. As an aside, I recall the service judge faulting Simon twice, possibly costing him two valuable points as a result. Anyway, the match was too close to call in the end, too bad there has to be a winner. If Simon 's lead in the decider were several healthy points, I'm sure that unexpected "injury" break in the last lap wouldn't have mattered to either players, most probably, though miracles do happen. That's just my opinion.
