    3. Badminton is like tennis but with Finesse
    2. One Day I plan to beat all my badminton buddies who think their all good
    1. TO IMPRESS THE LADIESS!!!!:D Theirs nothing that compares to bragging how good your are in badminton (even if your really not) to the girl you like :D

Erm... its the only thing I played since 10?
Seriously, having gone into tennis for a bit... badminton to me still holds a lot of attraction....it has more variety, subtlety and playability.

Curiously though.. playing badminton never did get me any "chicks".

I like the speed of the game and the contrasts between powerful smashes and delicate net shots - i also enjoy the lucky shots you can play where the shuttle doesn't quite come off the racquet right and it fools your opponents!!

It is also more fun than simply working out at the gym!

i just love it. I think its the speed. i really makes me concentrate and it gets my mind off of everything else. I love it when u execute a good smash too thats nice and fast, feels very good off the racquet. I guess its just an interesting game that i love.

Badminton is the only racquet sport that I can spend more time hitting the shuttle instead of picking them up - unlike tennis and table tennis.

    LOL

Most girls I know think that badminton is a wussy sport, and wussies play badminton, and stupid wussies play competitively, investing money and time into it.

And most boys. My teenage sons thought it, too, after playing a couple of times. Then we booked a court next to some county standard players and the lads just watched open mouthed at the speed and power. They don't say it's wussy any more.

Basically for me because it is a sport that has everything, fullstop.

It requires strength, speed, power, explosiveness, gentle touch, complex techniques and strategy, mental strength (for training and playing.)

Nothing even comes close in my mind, it consumes (almost) all of my thoughts, and I spend every moment i can either training for fitness or on the court..

    well said.
I played other sports as well, but still find badmintons the most beneficial sports.

I love it becuase it is hard to get good at it. It is a full body exercise or as a friend quotes "a physical chess game".

I just like the nice crisp "smack" sound you get when you hit with a new feather shutle. It sure beats the "spong~~~" sound from nylon. Then again, a nylon shuttle doesn't molt during the game...

i love the unique sound of badminton, the "smack smack smack..." when i first moved here from a badminton lacking city. i missed the sound so much i went to a few local tournaments and just sit there and listen to it.

it is like music to my ears.

it's alot cheaper than spending $$$$$ on a hifi system :D
so feather shuttles aren't really that expensive to listen :)

Love it because this is the sport I picked up at very young age, at about 12 years old. Playing it reminds me of the good old days....as troublemaker in school :D
