Thisis just in. The “Chongqing Commercial Times Newspaper” (2012/07/09 Monday 0610china time) reported that, though LYB had not announced official which 3 of the4 would go, insider said the decision is LXR will go instead of WSX… http://sports.sina.com.cn/o/2012-07-09/06106128679.shtml
I can't read that article (cause of my blatant inability to read mandarin) but interestingly, this "The Star" article (Malaysian paper) dated from the 9th of July reports differently... http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2012/7/9/sports/11627218&sec=sports
The “Chongqing Commercial Times Newspaper” being a major newspaper in a major city of China may carry some weight in the accuracy of the report. The newspaper has some vested interest in her as she is the hometown girl. But at any rate, we will know for sure in a few hours. A side note to this: When LXR was at US Open 2011, I sat down next to her and chat with her, along with LYB’s son, for a bit. She was very nice, and I think she is not that photogenic, but in person I find her quite pretty.
Stop giving baseless info without a source reference Stop doing this with all the insider info and bullcrap. Post along with a source reference.
The clock is ticking... still awaiting the none other than OFFICIAL info release on who is left out all other guessing, predictive, speculative info is irrelevant at this stage.
Whichever Wang gets omitted, she has every right to be angry at LXR Whoever it is though it's very likely to be WSX, she does have every right be pissed and mad at LXR because she just took her place after just four wins in recent tournaments while she has been working hard for more than a year or so. Guess the friendship is to be severed unofficially soon. Even WX would be pissed too if she (though super unlikely) get omitted, she got back from an injury and managed secure a SS hattrick last year and now she lost her place just because she didn't produce results this year.
Friend, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. It's not LXR's fault. That's the nature of competitive sport, willy-nilly you're competing with everyone else including compatriots. If you must blame someone, then it should be BWF who set the rules limiting to 2 or 3 participants with conditions;otherwise all four will be happily chatting, dining, shopping, singing and training together. Please empathize with the affected girls, esp the ill-fated one.
Regardless though, in their human perspective even though as a professional, the person would feel their chance has been robbed after working so hard for the past 18 months.
Yes,I understand what you mean, but it's not within the girls' control, even LYB couldn't do anything about it but to comply with the BWF rule.
Rules or no rules, looking at how it would turn up. Two or maybe three of them will be emotionally affected by this fiasco. WYH obviously does not give a damn about this. However, it's like for the first time in the individual competition WX and WSX will not be competing together. This new scenario will have huge impact on their mentality also.
It's already 1730 Qingdao time and still no news from this LYB, can somebody give us an update (WITH CITED SOURCE and reference please) about the current situation.
BWF is headquartered at Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia, same timezone as Qindao,China - anytime now,the announcement should be made, latest by tomorrow.
Considering the aim is to produce results, I think it's likely to be quite an important factor ... Otherwise I could go to the olympics myself.
That's life. You're still quite young,I believe, as you get older you realized things often don't turn out the way you wanted or expected - you just have to come to terms with it and move on, as long as you've done your best with a clear conscience. If you don't find me naggy or preachy (I really meant well), let me put it to you another way. Supposing you were one of the three affected girls, WX,LXR or WSX - how you feel we know but what will you do? If you were WSX,blame LXR? If you were LXR,who do you blame? But what's the use of this blame game when the decision was made without any of you having any say in it? As they say,in life you win some and lose some. Sometimes, things aren't as bad as they look, it could be a blessing in disguise. Imagine, you're not one of the affected girls, yet you seem to take it so hard, it worries me to think if you were the unfortunate girl. (No offence intended at all nor taking a dig at you, just a friendly piece of advice said out of goodwill and in a lighthearted manner. Peace.)
BWF website should be the best place for the official announcement. All the others, Sina, Sohu, QQ, the Star, China Press, etc, are secondary sources.
2012 London Olympic Games under BWF website, Events section. Not updated yet, still Phase 1-3. All the other secondary sources can be accurate provided they quote the BWF or at least CBA official announcement with links.
I'm thinking, today is 9th Jul all right, but owing to the different timezones of the various BAs, we have to wait until the day is actually over for all of them before BWF can make the official announcement.
sina's update: a former Chinese player has just heard WSX is not selected. http://2012.sina.com.cn/cn/bd/2012-07-09/20169356.shtml http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_60fba19f01014vxl.html
