Probably she has been in the national team, we just forgot about her. Wikipedia says she was runner up of the China Master'15, lost to HBJ.
Right, Zhou Wenlong was briefly in the international circuit some years back, then disappeared for quite a while, now he's back playing the CBSL and what a scare he gave Lin Dan who had to dig deep to survive his onslaught. If not for his leg injury in G3, who knows he might create a sensation besting Lin Dan. I too am impressed by his relentless attack and stubborn defense, occasionally sending Lin Dan reeling. Hope to see Zhou Wenlong in the pro circuit again one day.
She was once upon a time but relegated to the provinces due to lacklustre international results. Born Jan 4th 1994, 22 years old now. I hope now that CHN WS are missing their top three elites, LXR, WYH, WSX, that CBA gives players like Hui Xirui more international exposure.
Possibly, I only saw him receiving medical treatment, then the video was interrupted with some parts missing, and upon resumption, he was seen losing a couple of points before he finally conceded the match at 11-18 and limped off court.
CBA messing Hui Xirui 'n others w/ small time intl play. If they give her more time, who knows? Marin not suddenly become monster. CBA need to be more patient w/ their youngsters. And where is Deng Xuan? It's look long time ago since last time I watched her.
Deng Xuan is also out of the national team since a couple years back. The latest I've known of her is that she is playing in the now ongoing Purple League in Malaysia.
True.He will find a way and make you run 500 km before anything decisive could be done by you in that point. Old, very old but doesn't like to lose easily.
For those who missed the thrilling Lin Dan vs Zhou Wenlong match yesterday (the first couple of points missing). To me, the crew-cut, slit-eyed Zhou Wenlong resembles Sho Sasaki.
According to wikipedia (German) , Zhou Wenlong is not young anymore, born 8th June 1987, i.e. 29 years old already. Any late bloomer like Sho Sasaki ?
For those interested , Qingdao's Hui Xirui beat Zhejiang's Chen Yufei yesterday in two convincing straight sets , 21-12, 21-8 ! Also Qingdao's Chen Long needed three sets to beat Zhejiang's Guo Kai, 21-13, 14-21, 21-8.
Another upset, Guangdong's Sun Yu lost a three-setter to Jiangsu's 18-year-old Gao Fangjie, 16-21, 21-12, 20-22. Gao Fangjie has a similar height and build to Sun Yu, but a bit more agile and lithe , a faster mover, seems to me. I hope to see Gao Fangjie developing into a higher version of Sun Yu.
I don't think we should read too much into Zhou Wenlong's performance vs. Lin Dan. Its happened with other Chinese players before in which they go all-out and play the match of their lives against LD because they have nothing to lose, but in reality they cannot sustain that quality on the tour and against other players.
Agreed. His style of play didn't look too threatening like most of the young chinese MS players but somehow LD struggled to cope up with him. But towards the end of second game it was evident that if third game happened it would be difficult for him to cope with LD. And he got unlucky even though he had a match point against LD. Third game he quit.
