What a great start and end to the uber cup finals. Great matches. Congratulations Korea. Well done China, you put up a great fight. Player of the day is Sim Yu Jin. WYZ might not have played to her full potential (I haven't seen much of her) but some of the shots Sim produced were simply amazing. She's got skills and she will only get better from here. And what a coaching debut SHJ is having. Great effort from team Korea.
Im happy for Miss SJH as a new coach she got two Uber Golds now to her name as a Player and also as a coach !!
OTOH, Chen Yufei showed resilience, unyielding spirit and willpower to hang in to the very end, barely saving herself by the skin of her teeth against all odds - that should be a morale-booster and a much-needed dose of inner belief that stand her her in good stead going forward to scale greater heights. At the same , I've the highest praise for An Se Young, not only was she remarkable in pushing CYF to the limit, an opponent she has never beaten before but also the way she handled the reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi, the manner in which she came from behind to win the second and especially the third set was inspiring to watch. Brilliant performance, more to come in future, no doubt.
Chen Yufei and He Binjiao were the two people I always admire in China team. So honorable and humble.
Actually, when I see WZY playing with little injection of pace throughout and keep giving her opponent the attacking opportunities by making the same mistake again and again, particularly lifting and clearing predictably, I knew her brains is not working, clueless, stuck in the rot, unable to free herself. It's more a case of WZY beating herself than Sim YJ besting her, as I'm sure if not for the special occasion and the heavy responsibility on her shoulders, I believe we would see a different Wang Zhiyi. Remember how she won the Badminton Asia Championship just a fortnight ago.
this age of socmed, I am worry the amount of shade WZY going to receive in China, losing the 3rd at that scoreline kinda outplayed in rubber
Although it might feel like WZY “lost the match” the WD teams are equally responsible after their chokes.
Actually what made you say that wzy lost the match. Did you actually watch the match? As for the doubles. Korea is favourite for the 2nd doubles. China slight favourite for the first.
What a final game! Amazing play by the ladies. Korea also abit lucky to be in a good group. This somewhat help them to arrive at the finals. Their fighting spirit is amazing. Respect to team Korea for their resilience. Celebrations will be sweeter. Sent from my SM-N986B using Tapatalk
Doesn't that remind you of SJH It almost always looked like Sung is Outta gas and won't sustain by the end of the rally let alone the game, but more often than not outlasted the opponent
Mine is Sogaard infact saw quite a few cute ones for the first time in this tourney, including Shruti Mishra
