Haha..Yeah sure... I'm a friend of shinta mulia sari n his bros play for singapore too.Hendra wijaya n hendri....They, them self told me that...They have better future playing for singapore coz they got no chance in indo....About aust, we only play for fun and no support from government and it's not of major sport so yeah...As far as i know, Badminton is one of Singapore's national coach....At least we won a lot of gold medal in beijing from swimming...Singapore any????Thats the truth....
It'll take Singapore a long while more to obtain a gold medal in the Summer Olympics. We can only boast of two silver medals so far, but we're not giving up. But we obtained a gold and a silver medal in swimming from the just concluded Paralympics - a first for Singapore. We are learning from Australia in many sports-related aspects and hope to achieve more from our athletes. Australia should compare with the best like China and the USA, not with tiny Singapore!
Aussie ex-national players in Singapore . jimbo ... Yes, it's been 2 years now since Raymond has moved to Singapore from Melbourne. Has he grown back his hair? Get him to post something here. .
Well, I wasn't going to compare Australia and Singapore from the first place anyway...i am just referring to "Singapore has its own badminton record and its share of good badminton players. And I don't think we are behind Australia in terms of standard and exposure. You need to find out more of the truth"...Haa..US and China, The population of china n US compare to Australia....30 billion ppl compare to 20 million? I think it's easier to find a person like Lin Dan out of 30 billion ppl....
This I agree with you, but there are always exceptions and we should not give up on a super talent that comes our way once in a lifetime! Anyway, I hope you are enjoying your badminton.
Australia has plenty of young talent its just the funding/interest that struggles to push us through. here in brisbane we have Ian Lai former junior world champion hehe but he doesnt coach or play much anymore. (also not sure of his chinese name) Im sure eventually we will get some young superstar who will make their mark for aus and we will go from there. Hopefully.
He doesn't coach or play anymore! From being of that standard , do you know why he has stopped playing/coaching?
apparantly he didnt believe badminton was the best way he could build a career off. So he settled down to raise a family and work career. He still plays socially once a week i think.
A lot of good players do this , after becoming a high standard of player. And don't let their children play.
