My question here is. Why would you actually think he should be as dominating as Axelson.
He even struggled against Loh Kean Yew today.

And Ginting even managed to get the 2nd set with his ability and not by luck against Axelson today.
So why do you think LZJ shouldn't struggle against Ginting?

Yes, that was in the WTF 2020, played 1/31/2021. So over a year ago. It was the third weekend of the Thailand leg.

Forcing a rubber game is already a pretty good result for ginting.

VA knew AG was a spent force at the end of the 2nd game.

I followed LZJ career for a long time, since even before he won All England.

He used to beat VA quite regularly,at one point their H2H was about equal. Same with LKY,he actually never struggled much against him. I think the two of them figured out LZJ strategy sometime in the last 2 years though.

But in terms of physical, mental, not much difference between VA and LZJ. Just that LZJ tends to make more unforced errors.

I mentioned he always struggled against Ginting. But he has beat Ginting as well, its just harder for him compared to the other 2 players.

I don't think LZJ should struggle against Ginting because Ginting is a very inconsistent player. But he does anyway.

That is the “glass half full” way to look at it :) . They only played six times. VA had 3-1 and now has 4-2 against LZJ. If LZJ wins tomorrow, I would agree.
