So many uncharacteristic mistakes from Watanabe. He is the pillar of that pair but he made lot of errors today.

    Play hard. Train harder.

I told japan coach my junior this also.

Japan a bit slack in first 11 points. Trailing too much. Leftie is good and must take advantage to swipe to the middle. No harm let china 3-4 smashes till tired like minions. Then counter. Today no form trying to drive and press low shots. Risky.

That's so typical of watanabe tbh, he's not really a safe player.

I agree. in the first game they can't lift freely because of the drift, but in the second game I feel like they should be more patient and lift more. they're not beating li/liu when it comes to these fast flat exchanges.

Why are they allowed to play at such a slow pace. Delays after each point. Recently BWF checked that when match lasts 90 minutes they are actually playing for 20 minutes. Rest of the time players are just walking around the court or staring each other. They should really implement shot clock like in tennis - after point is finished they have 25 seconds to start next one.

Endo was playing horribly today - bad serving and so many loose shots especially on drive or blocks, going upwards above net height making it too easy for Li/Liu to get the initiative. Hope they get some confidence and consistency back before WC. Li/Liu played a lot better today though.

Ko tried to serve flick but it did not work against tall indian pair. Bang.
So, he tried to be very close to the net in the short serve but failed 2 or 3 times in game 1.
One game to the good for indian pair with 22-20 to their kitty.
    Game 2 will be interesting.
