Lin Dan is the one and only main attraction for this Super 100 event, taking part here to maintain his chance through to Guangzhou, non-stop tournament for him since DEN Super 750 until HKG Super 500 in five consecuitve weeks.
China Born Sun Feixiang getting his backside whooped by an Italian Player, what's the world coming to these days?
SFX is so young, yet he seemed to have mellowed a little, his aggressive attacking game of his junior circuit days gone. I must admit, the Viet-Irish player is fast , and has a reasonably good attack and defense for someone so young, age 18, born 16 June 2000, looks promising. But gradually, SFX played himself into the game and prevailed in the end. Could it be jetlag as he's not used to travelling long distances across many timezones ?
With CL started gaining his form back, it is like a mission impossible. Jia You Lin Dan! Give it your all
It's BWF who had made weird decision to count point through low-tier tournaments like Super 100 & Super 300 for Guangzhou Finals. 12 Super Series format is much better than the so-called rebranding BWF World Tour which consists of 37 tournaments (3 + 5 + 7 + 11 + 11)
Li Xuerui still not steady and consistent enough, not as good as before yet (her mental weakness in the majors aside), the way she lost G2 to Lee Se Yeon is alarming, practically giving the set away with tons of unforced errors. Luckily, she reasserted herself in the decider to seal victory decisively.
Subankhar Dey is doing exactly what every youngster ,nay every opponent, knows they can do to Lin Dan. 3 GP in G1 and Lin Dan couldn't convert it to a win.
