Certainly killing the argument that Chinese players/athletes are only good because they have so many, if the numbers are accurate
I really don't know what you mean, but I doubt it can be explained via forum posts, if at all as I said, one of the least graceful players in the entire scene is LYC for me, with TTY and RI being on the other side of the spectrum, for example. I always found FHF to be a pretty exemplary mover as well, except for his tendency to take very big swings around the net. LYD as well, excepting his jump smash.
Yeah.. it is going to take about a page long of posts anyway so don't bother. LYD is graceful I supposed. Well I only take notice of players of my favorites, FHF/ZN is definitely one of them. Too bad one has to retired eventually.
About womens singeles china has many propectives but they haven't been able to give results.hope to see title winning results in near future.apart from shi qui,lu ghanzhu seems to be only the rsing one till now.lin dan and chen long not in good form.about mens doubles they two well stablished pairs and 3 young rising pairs.major problem is in womens doubles.chen & jia is also out of form.they are no other pairs upto the task now.
It was definitely time. Did you read that interview of his where he talked about his knees and stuff? Apparently he couldn't train full time for like the last 2 years or so, as his knees couldn't deal with that much stress anymore, and they'd always - as he described it - 'crackle' when he squatted down. Sounds like a lot of wear&tear, I just hope he can recover a bit so it doesn't bother him in everyday life and that he can enjoy his well-deserved retirement
Yeah I think I have read that. But at least he was loving every moment of it. Well, apart from being in pain part of course. I know exactly how it feels like to have bothering knees. Sucks. Well, I wish him all the best. He seems happy spending time with his sons. I wonder if he is going to teach them badminton.
Probably going to encourage them to focus on school, will see how that turns out would probably be a tough career for the son, to follow in his father's footsteps and try to compete with one of the all-time greats. Most children of pro athletes actually don't go into the same sport, or don't do well there for some reason. Can't actually think of a parent-child combo where both were really good (Tago and his mother might be counted as an exception by some). Li Yongbo's son certainly doesn't qualify
Its quite an achievement for an unknown WD pair of Chen Lu and Xu Ya to beat the top seed japanese pair of Sakuramoto and Takahata, ranked 11 in the world. The Japanese WD have been winning quite a number of tournaments. Pity we can't see the video of this match. Something wrong with the top seeds?
