What did the service judge do ? And how exactly did Lin Dan react? I don't quite follow what's going on...
Lin Dan reacted normally 1) This judge was ducking in , zooming In, before each serve. Didn't fault Lin Dan for the first 10 serves. 2) Then suddenly he realised what a Fraud Lin Dan is ,,,serving at that height, 3) Lin Dan threw his rakcet....threw a tantrum explaining to his coaches....went to the umpire and said '' I AM FRUCKING SERVING AT THE SAME HEIGHT SINCE LAST TWO MATCHES......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! '' Tell THIS JUDGE TO ZOOM OUT OF CUCKOOO LAND HE IS DUCKING IN.''' Umpire Lady : Okay
That's what I thought too, a simple crude way of doing it but if it works or at least improves the accuracy, why not , other than introducing higher technology in the near future. But right now when even the service judge is not too sure about getting it right, that's concerning as it introduces elements that may upset or rattle the players, esp at crucial moments. In that case, not much of an improvement over the old way of doing things prior to the 1.15m rule.
That service fault upset Lin Dan so much that he actually threw the racquet on the floor in protest and even went over to have a word with the umpire, in vain as expected, but I was surprised the umpire didn't yellow- or red-card him for his outburst. Perhaps he's giving Lin Dan the benefit of the doubt without reversing the call and give a let.
LOL I am sure freza would do anything to crush gohan. But Lin Dan, on the other hand, wouldn't mind even a bit losing to a 6 year old, would he?
@Tai Tzu Ying Watch and Learn How it's done and then submit 100$ dollar check at the residence of Xie Xingfang. My best and Severely Best Wishes TO you. Your sincerely ~Fox
Any LD fans can share what racket is LD using in his latest games / 2018? Didnt find any info even tried Yonex website. ^^
You know, my worry for Lin Dan these few years and going forward till he finally retires, is that either he gets knocked out in R1/R2 for whatever (stupid) reasons or he falters at the final hurdle for lack of endurance due to his old age and attendant waning physicality. That's painful to see for a fan , I particularly recall the Glasgow WC last year and the All England this year, straining every sinew only in vain, but, glad to say, the New Zealand Open WTS300 stopped the rot for now, hopefully not temporarily. I'd be jubilant if he could capture just one more major title, the World Championship, The Olympic Gold, or even the Asian Games gold before he finally hangs up his racquet for good. For this coming Thomas Cup, his ninth appearance since 2002, there has been some speculation in the Chinese newsmedia that it could be his last, not implying that he's going to retire after that as he's still aiming for Tokyo 2020, no change in that regard , it's just that it's becoming quite a stretch to expect him to continue to deliver at such a major event when his growing age is a concern; besides, it's high time the younger generation steps up to the plate. I mean, CHN simply cannot afford not to have an injection of new blood and a successful transition from one generation to another, the changing of the guards should be a smooth process for Chinese badminton to be in a healthy and sustainable state of growth and development. The same goes for any other country's badminton.
Simple, just stop being a LD fan then I am sure your life would be much easier and less painful. Just enjoy the ride while you (and LD) can. I personally think his achievements for someone his age and limited physical strength is normally should be considered above anyone's expectation. It is a blessing not to know Super Dan in his prime, as I just started noticing his play in AE this year.
If you had the bad luck to have been born a LCW-fan instead you will suffer a lot more, 3 Olympic games silver, unlimited numbers of WC silvers and so on. Be happy that your idol at least won everything twice.
