Honestly speaking, I did not see the shuttle touching Lin Dan's racket. I only saw it leaving the strings of Christie, a Blur motion, and shuttle back to JC's court .

    Are humans that evolved?

Shame they messed up the recording quality with the overlay. Kept flickering half the time. Why is it so hard to find good badminton recordings these days?!

OK, point taken. Just want to express my solicitude towards Lin Dan nowadays.

As for you, my commiseration, for without knowing Super Dan in his heyday is like not knowing what you're missing in life as far as badminton is concerned. :p:D:)

Don't worry. I know exactly how you feel.

True, but I am a Men's Double fan through and through. Been out of touch with badminton since the Sydney Olympics and just got back in touch last year. And after witnessing the agony of many Super Dan's fans for these last years over his forms or performances, I am just glad I didn't have to go through that phases. :) And to be honest, I don't think I would be a fan of Super Dan. The Lin Dan now was what had impressed me a lot.

@antssantss Anything nice to say about Lin Dan's victory over VERY illustrious opponent Jonathan 'JoJo' Christie. What future do you see for this junior(LD) .. ?

What is it that Lin Dan celebrated his world tour 300 win that emotionallly?
Show? Pressure from inside himself, media, public or coaches? Being released winning a title since sometime even if it was a smaller one? Prove that he still performs when well prepared (probably bc he and chinese players have a training plan towards T&U cup)?
    Something else?

Just wondering as it always seems that he doesn't care much about smaller events, maybe for gaining points to keep a ok world ranking. Maybe I underestimated how important wins are even for someone like him who focuses on big events as he can't be on top level a whole year / for long periods considering his age (as a professional Badminton player)...

It is really hard to tell. Maybe it meant something to him emotionally.

He hadn't won any title recently and had been defeated by young stronger rising stars in the finals that mattered to him WC17 (VA) and AE18 (SYQ). So perhaps winning the final over JC who was considered one of the young rising stars from the same generation as the other title winners, did mean a lot to him. Proving to the world that he still has got it in him to win a title by defeating the next generation. And he was down 15-19? in G2, denied requests of shuttle change or floor mopping by the umpire, service faulted. Might just be, he felt that pressure or threat from JC as much as he did from the opponents in the finals he lost. He overcame it and won the match exactly the way he pictured it in his mind.

Winning it from R1 through to Final on court 1 maybe did wonders.

Lin Dan mentioned on weibo that this win was after 326 days. Meant a lot to him after the setbacks in World Championship Final and All England Championships Title match.

Antsantss mentioned in another thread that LD is looking fitter, faster, and playing with better anticipation than in All England.
So a win could help him a lot mentally.

Also his play in the NZO was way more aggressive than the recent years.

May be a glimpse the 2008 Lin Dan
