    Congratulations, Akane. Well done.

Actually, it could've gone either way, a narrow victory. In the end, it's down to fitness/stamina.

So Sindhu ain't gonna win anything untill she has got a complete set of Silvers? If that's the case I hope she wins the AG silver next year.

A tired looking Akane, that's unusual. But anyway, congratulations Akane Yamaguchi :)

That tells how much stamina does Akane have over Sindhu. Credit to both players for giving us a delightful showing today.

Cracking match of two fantastic players. And they are only 20 and 22, so we can look forward to more of this in the future. Sindhu is a cracking player, shame her complete lack of sportsmanship makes her unsupportable basically. Should take something out of the book of KS.

Yep. I was wrong. I thought PVS would struggle physically and AY would open up the lead.

The umpire didn't interfere much throughout the match, giving both players quite a bit of leeway seeing how grueling the match was; otherwise, his warnings once in a while might affect the outcome when the score is so close.

All credit to AY as she never let the intensity drop after that disastrous G1
PVS OTOH despite of cold have her best even when there was nothing in the tank. Sheer determination and respect for each other

actually it was quite telling from the late second game that PVS was saving her stamina for third game ....

To be fair, they should use a timer--just like in chess.

Right now, it's all up to the umpire.
