is it that kind of hidden secret volcom didn't want to tell us last week when he started Li Ning- Yonex mystery talk??
If the line calls were really bad, LD would have shouted. They must have been very close with almost no room for error even if it was called wrongly... which was why LD didn't argue, just a few looks of confusion sometimes.
just watched the game... line calls seemed fair, maybe 1-2 ones that could have gone the other way but nothing outrageous, besides without cameras on the lines themselves... hard to judge... but omg the amount of net caughts LCW got in that game... no wonder LD was like... W T F
Wel that is the problem.. its kind of damd if yuo do damd if you don't... I Think LD has gotten ALOT of critisism for his outburst, especially with the racket throwing incident in Korea at Li Mao etc. I think that he will not complain much even if the linecall are bad (and besides it is hard for a player to get perfect view of the back baseline...).. I think LD is trying to show constrain these days with stupid line-calls.. /Twobeer
Also people say 2 invalid linecalls is nothing... With todays rally scoring system, I think it is kind of a big differnce with for example 21-17 compared to 19-19 (that could be the difference of two line-calls !!) So I think something has to be done to ensure correct linecalls... /Twobeer
is it? do u watch wc 2010 where lin dan argue about two line call who against him? wonder how big the change is between wc and jo for lindan?
i would say for wc, to save his match losing to psh for jo, possibly a title say, the difference is huge considering the payout in us$ and face value
If wanna debate about controversial line call or anything.. the debate won't finish.. Wonder if anyone of you saw how angry and furious HYH is when he lost the 2nd set of the WC round of 32 to taufik hidayat, and that cause him to play the rubber game and the game as well..
Exactly.. The Linecalls are a huge problem in todays game imop. as a wrong call with todays rally scoring essentially makes a 2-point diffence (for one single faulty call) +1 for one player and a -1 on (0 instead of +1) forr the player who got the point robbed . if you win apoint by putting a smash or attack-clear on the line and that gets incorrecty called out, you do not only need to win one extra point to recouperate, but rather two points extra to compensate for the lost point (as the opponent score was advanced by one...) /Twobeer
I don't see how you find fault in that...that's the way it should be! The only participants who complains about it are the ones on the losing side, though they won't care when their game is on. So what about a 2 points deficit? It shouldn't cause a mental block! Only the unprepared, unfit, mentally weak and having a bad day whines!
it rly depends when it happens... but unfortunately way too many crucial points are wrongly called than insignificant ones... this year's WC finals had ridiculous line calls )XD n WS), the only reason BWF didnt get slaughtered was because they luckily happened in China vs China encounters....
In my honest opinion, the Japanese are a proud nation who take their professional very seriously and this is evident when they are capable of delivering their goods and services in a very high standard for the past several decades, unlike some of their Asian counterparts. I don't believed one bit that the Japanese linejudges would favour LCW in that match, considering LCW isn't even from their home country. And I don't see any bad linecalls in, HH and LCW macthes vs Tago. Why should they do it in a final where non of the players are from Japan? Unless you have hard evidence with you like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kEc19cg-Ts&feature=related If not, I would suggest you to just leave it just as your mere speculation and not trying to question the professionalism of the Japanese. Even if bad linecalls were made, it must have been so close that it's acceptable within human error(unlike that video I showed) and the line judges were already giving their best to cut down on misjudgements. And also, you seem to be the only one who suggest that there's alot of bad calls going against LD. Let me remind you that if such incident was true, you would have seen an ultra motivated LD like shown in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ8wNPywNiY And I don't see any tone down in Lin Dan's reaction against bad linecalls in WC 2010 and China Master 2010, like some member already mentioned here. Cheers.
LD has chilled since 2007 that line call would have given LD the win... not the same as a call when you're already losing 15-10 besides the Korean coaches rushed in to disturb LD when they were obviously in the wrong (and they knew it) Like I said the line calls in the JO seemed decent but I question why they have such poor filming coverage for a SS event... no one will ever know
