If Marin withdraws, does that mean Sun Yu can go? or the withdrawal of any already qualified person will do?
Sun Yu needs a withdrawal from a Chinese player since there's already 3 Chinese in the WS draw. (Max 3 per country).
I don't know the current progresses in sports medicine, but 13 years ago (Beckham) and 9 years ago (Wayne Rooney); it was career derailing. Hope it does the same to screaming nightmare's career.
I don't think so. Based on 3.2.3: http://www.bwfbadminton.org/file.aspx?id=608529&dl=1 Each member association can send a maximum of 4 players/pairs per event provided that their ranking is within the top 8. Sun Yu is outside of the top 8, so there's no way she can play unless one of her team mates withdraw. Thankfully though, Sun Yu is within top 24, which means even though one of her team mates withdraw, she can still play because for players within top 24 ranking, the member association can enter a maximum of 3 players.
what about 3.2.4, 3.2.5 and 3.2.25? what is the date for which ranking will be used for the above purpose?
Honestly one of the cruelest and coldest remarks I have ever seen on this forum. Why on earth does one wish ill will on another? She is a very kind and caring person off court, she may have a hard on-court persona and determined competitor, but to hope her career ends is totally uncalled for.
I don't think that Marin's stress fracture injury would derail her career, not that serious. According to one report somebody posted on her thread, she was purportedly immobilised for 10 ten days while awaiting further medical review. As of now she is reported to be resuming training albeit starting with swimming exercises and she has explicitly stated her determined desire to recover as quickly and as much as possible so as to compete at the WC. Might it be her injury is mild ? Even so there's no denying the possible adverse effect it is likely to have on her WC defence, to what degree we are not sure at this stage. Nevertheless, till now Marin has expressed no intention to pull out of the WC, so Sun Yu despite being the 1st reserve in the list of WC qualifiers may not get lucky to have her first shot at the WC. We'll see.
Indonesia Open - The Past Winners In Men's Singles . I think the upcoming 2015 World Championships in Istora - Jakarta lays the best opportunity for Lee Chong Wei to grab the title. For some inexplicable reasons, the venue in Jakarta is quite friendly to him, while it's almost a nightmare for his main opponents from China. Lee is the five time MS winners of the Indonesia Open, a regular tournament hosted annually in the same stadium. The last time China won the MS here was in 1989, by Xiong Guobao. Following table of the past winners of Indonesia Open may give you better idea:
