This 'feud' going on between LD and Taufik.. can someone fill me in on how and why they dispise each other?!? PS: Perhaps the words 'feud' and 'dispise' are inappropriate, but can't think of any other words..
I dont think they hated each other.. its just FUED, EGO and COMPETITION. Both of them have to keep each other heads up high. In team event such as this.. hmmm you migh be suprised how it will turn out.
Have tickets for tonight and Thursday. Im sad to hear that theyre not really excited in playing here, even if it is indeed the largest purse in badminton, as reported. Anyone care to comment on the economic side of this? How does it affect the players?
MVP Purse The winning team gets US$50,000 while the losers get US$30,000. That amounts to about US$5K per event (2 X MS, 2 X WS, 2 X MD, 2 X WD, 1 X XD, Team Captain) for the winning team and US$3K per event for the losing team. US$5K is more or less the runner-up's purse in most major IBF tourneys. I'm not sure but I think Lin Dan got less than that as runner-up in the recently concluded Malaysian Open. I Think US$3K probably is equivalent to their "appearance fee".
They are not really excited to play here as some of them are gearing up for the Big One. The players need not to worry about $ as they are being paid to play.. win or lose.
