    what Zhang Ning said...

"When I saw the draw, I saw that I had to play Camilla in the early rounds. So my goal in this tournament was to play Camilla, nothing more. I'm really happy that I got past the hurdle," said a jubilant Zhang.

"I couldn't cope with her speed in the first game, she played very quickly, so I changed the pace in the second and third games and just tried to be patient. That was the key to the victory."

I got the feeling that the chinese girls get some extra satisfaction in beating poor old CM. Maybe they even back in their locker room mark down each time they beat CM, in style like fighter pilot mark each down enemy craft on their plane.

From her words one can surmise that the Chinese girls' goal was to get past Camilla & nothing else.

To achieve that she has to go counter to what Camilla does & hope for the best.

    She needs a sports psychologist

    That's what I think.

Agree with both you and Marshall. Actually the psychological aspect of a sport is the hardest to master. Even if you have lost many, many times the same way, you don't necessarily learn the lesson. I was a shooter in high school and have been doing it for 6 years. Everytime my coach tells me not to aim at the target for too long. Everytime I end up aiming too long. Then I screw up my shots. Sometimes, it's not that you dunno you shouldn't do this or that; you just end up doing it coz you're so worried you may do sth wrong if you don't. Even though what you do is what causes your downfall. Am I making any sense? =P

It may not apply to CM... but that partially explains why I have an added sympathy for all the "psycho" players: like Ye Zhaoying.

Add another name to your list Kwun.

She wasn;t there watching her danish team mates play whereas the rest of the team (and Peter) were watching that doubles S/F match

Adel, have you seen my post under that long thread that turned into you going away to Uni?

Anyway, Tokyo - what a city. I am a true city guy.
Coming to the end of the Cherry blossoms. - they are beautiful.
Complicated train system - a bit similar to london. Thankfully, I can pick up some of the chinese characters to help me get my way round.

    I need to go back......

I got it, thanks. Will bear that in mind.

Tokyo... I've been there twice, once in summer and once in winter. Very high-tech but a bit too neat and orderly for me. S'ppose I haven't seen the messy parts, if there are any.
