Yuta is on another level to every other male doubles player right now. In the finals I'm sure when playing against him, Kamura/Sonoda and Matsutomo/Kaneko got reminded how talented he is. Not a single game lost in either discipline the whole AE.

The Indonesian XD and MD couldn't play but I don't think they would have won. MD finals with the minions probably closer. So the last test is to see what happens when China come back.

China mixed double would have stopped him. Also if Indonesia were there, we will never know

I had to double check to make sure I wasn't dreaming that he went 3 games with KamSo

Whoops thanks for the correction, the single dropped game in MD finals is right.

Definitely came a long way from his DUORA Z strike days.

Curious as to which strings he's on, lots of the Lining sponsored INA players still choose to use Yonex strings.

I am not sure, May be if someone uses yonex strings then there won’t lining logo mark, most of the times Sindhu doesn’t have logo mark. Or May be just non availability of Li Ning stringers on venue.

You can do it Yuta, go for the double gold medals!

I wonder sometimes how he would do in singles, sources say he decided to focus on doubles because of his size 167cm. The best we have to imagine is footage from him playing in high school, I believe that this is nationally across Japan.

Till now, by watching Yuta's performances he is surely at his best, but I am really sad to see him being held down by his partners as of now. The match against Puva/ Taett, Higashino made a lot of errors, Yuta was the only one controlling everything, from back court to lifting the drops made by opponents. Even in the match against the Danes, Endo wasn't at his sharpest.

All I want to say is, Yuta is a talented 2x Olympic Gold medal candidate, something that hasn't been done so far in badminton in a single olympic year (correct me if I am wrong) , and personally it will be sad to see if he doesn't get both for a player of his caliber. For me he is the No 1 Doubles player as of now.

Zhao Yunlei won gold in WD and XD in London 2012 but yes, I agree, Yuta is definitely talented and has a good chance of being the first male player to achieve a double at the Olympics.

Can't compare women and men categories. Way different levels of competition.

Yuta has been really amazing to watch. What a player.

On a side note, seems he's in love with Arisa Higashino.

They have been playing together at a very young age. I don't know the "love" part.

If Yuta can win 2 two gold medals this time, he will be another Lin Dan. (but I don't believe he can)

Because I think Zheng/Huang is the best XD pair in history in my mind while in MD, Setiwan can consider as one of the best players in history.

Setiwan/Ahsan is the nightmare of Watanabe/Endo.

And Kevin, the one who change the style of play in MD and the one who has longest time in top of the world

We shouldn't forget the AE2020 semifinal, win in straight games it was for Yuta/Endo, I guess iirc
