On mybadmintonstore website...they are selling (pre-order) VT80 Limited JP. Release in Sept 2011. Any ideas what that is about?

So almost $60 more and for what? Some new paint? Yonex are such crooks when it comes to pricing and general releases. I bet the racket doesn't cost them more than $40 to manufacture.

Usually this higher costs is for their research purposes. Alot money goes into trials and research for materials and such... some fail some goes thru.... not to mention endorsements or paying these players to test the racquets. same as to medication... branded higher as they need to fund the research..

i did...it is forgiving and demanding. but i like it when play at my optimum energy...smash, control, dropshot etc is accurate and no hassle....i must admit that this racket is mean for stronger and single player, imho...and i was signed up with fitness center to train my strength and muscle for that purpose :) or maybe i can just buy another 4U version bcoz i like VT80!
and now it just rest in my bag for month. MX80 is my go-to ATM.
ssj100, why u just buy VT80 3U and give it try?i am pretty sure u will like it very very much....since u are smash-monster of mumbai a.k.a ssj da boss! :D:p

Played 4 games of singles again last night. Won them all. Surprisingly, I wasn't as winded/tired after the session as I was in previous weeks.

    1st game: 15-4
My friend gave another try with his VT70. He was absolutely dreadful. I kept pushing him to all 4 corners and he couldn't keep up. His smash was non-existent allowing me to place my shots at will.

    2nd game: 15-4
He used his VT70 up until I got 10 points and then switch back to his old Gosen racket. But by that time it was too late.

    3rd game: 14-14 (3-1).
He played much better this time around. He was up 12-14 until I forced a tie. Tie-breaker was first to 3 points. I won the game with a sweet net play (something that wasn't there for most of the night).

    4th game: 15-6
He kinda rushed the game cuz we were starting to run out of time. He's definitely better with his old racket compared to his VT70.

Playing singles has helped us increase our stanima and court coverage. Definitely moving around better than before. My friend is thinking of getting a different racket. His VT70 will be his backup racket.

Next week our friend (who's better...cuz he's got better court coverage and stanima) should be joining us. We'll see how we measure up. Only played him twice since getting my VT80 and won both games. Should be interesting.

.. is it mainly because of the VT80 or something else? are you using 4U?
what about other differences - like shoes, what you guys had in lunch, whether you guys had a good sleep .. etc. etc... (jk)
wonder how you are still playing with old counting method.. isn't that other people waiting to play..?

Hmmm perhaps the white is replaced with red for the limited edition version?

Looks like it. Now the question is, who's silly enough to spend an extra $60 for some red paint?

    Diehard racquet collectors! :D
Well it's sorta like the AT700 and the AT700 ltd right?
Over here in Malaysia the retail price for AT 700 is MYR 719.90 and for the AT700 ltd its MYR 999.90
Approximately USD 90 of price difference

Maybe it's a limited edition signature series with Lee Chong Wei.
Good marketing move to capitilze on his recent success with the VT80.

    Votlric 80 LCW

If the paint job is really nice...I might buy it.
Then sell my current VT80 and pick up a Victor MX70 or MX80 as a backup racket.

If Yonex wants to make limited edition for Chong Wei, then they should be painting yellow because yellow is his favorite color.
