Just got an used VT80 3U from another forum member few weeks back. Although it felt heavy/meaty, this racket provides unparallel power, precision and control. I played with Carbonex 21SP 2U previously, this new VT80 changed my game leaps and bounds. Never had I felt so good playing badminton
I can only find 4U4G VT80 in Sweden. I generally just play single game. So I wonder is it a big disadvantage if I picked 4U instead of 3U
For you personally it might be. Though for the record peter gade used a 4u for singles so if you want advice from other people I would go with what he did.
Greetings fellow Swede. I, like you, prefer to play singles and I use VT80 4U (also VTZF 4U). I've never tried the 3U versions but personally I'm very happy with my 4U. I think they're heavy enough as they are and I have no problem producing good power for either of them. It all have to do with body type, muscle and so on. Just because one person say that 3U is better than 4U doesn't mean it is the same for the next person. I think it's a difficult thing to recommend rackets or say that "this one is better than the other one" because in the end, it all comes down to personal preference.
The stiffness of the Voltric 80 is certainly different to the Voltric 70. The Voltric 80 is stiff whereas the Voltric 70 is flexible
It isn't stiff as an arcsaber DX racquet is it? Because I'm planning from a VT 70 which is rated medium stiff and VT 80 is stiff
vt80 less stiff than arcs8dx quite a bit. my opinion, vt80 play stifness very close to vt70 alt vt80 rated as stiffer due to head wt.
I dont think so, the Arcsaber 8DX was pretty stiff compared to the Voltric 80, you should try and play with it first before you buy it, of course.
hello there everyone! i have a question about VT80. what is the difference between JP and SP? price? quality? i was told SP racket was made in Malaysia. is that true? hope someone can clarified to me. thanks
Who told you that? Most Yonex rackets are made in Japan. Some lower end models are made in Taiwan. SP-coded rackets are made in Japan but usually distributed to the Southeast Asian region. In terms of differences to JP-coded rackets, there is no conclusive answer. Some have said that JP rackets are higher quality but this is difficult to prove. If you can afford a JP-coded racket and you are certain that it is genuine, then buy it. If not, then genuine SP-coded rackets are just as good.
thanks bro. really thanks for the info. was told by a guy that wanted to sell his voltric 80 JP code. that's why i am asking here to confirm. and seems like i am not sure if the racket he selling is original or not. maybe i try to get the racket's shaft number and cone code to get verification from anyone here.
I don't think anyone here can tell you with 100% certainty if the racket is genuine just by having a look at the cone+shaft code. The fake rackets are known to have "legitimate" codes as well (e.g. the counterfeiters have just copied the codes from a genuine racket). Maybe a few high quality pictures would be more useful. How much is the guy selling it for? If he really told you that SP-coded rackets were made in Malaysia, then I doubt that his racket is genuine. Unless you are certain his racket is genuine, then I suggest you buy from a reputable store (e.g. there's a few in Puchong).
really thanks bro. think not going to get the racket from him. hahahaha. still searching around to get the cheapest new unused / unstrung vt80. anyone got any idea where i can get in Malaysia? thanks
