I actually used this racket for an hour and after, I purchased a pair. It had all the extra add on orange pieces on and the first feeling was reminiscence of the armortec series. Head heavy, solid feeling, simple just like the armortec, as I used the armortec 300 and 700 long time ago.

POWER is insane on this racquet. Easily able to generate power with its medium flex and head heavyness in the smashes, drives, and clears. Out of 10, i'd probably give it a 10 and if not a 9.5.

DEFENSE: apparently it is a bit lower on the scale of 10 as many of my friends complained about the defense is not as good as the zforceII 4U. Seems reasonable as the e tune i tried was a 3UG4 with all the orange grommets added on. It is always harder to defend fast angled double smashes with a head heavier racquet theoretically.

SWING: Easy follow throughs. It feels as if the shaft does not bend while doing simple slow swings, as if the head is guiding the swing path(a different swing feeling as an armortec, but feeling of shots are like the armortecs)

I cannot comment on anymore other than that as I haven't played with it more than an hour long. I definitely picked this racquet due to the fact that it reminds me of my old armortecs, which I loved playing with.

    Only for information:
The purple and orange tuneparts have the same weight (up and down parts together ~0,8 g (orange 0,80 g and the purple 0,84 g).
Two normal U shaped grommet have 0,12 g. So the additional weight is only ~ 0,7 g, what is a normal production tolerance. Don't think that is so much weight, that the racket is more head heavy...

I modified my Arc11 with continuous grommets, and some more U shaped grommets. I've weighed both:
    Continuous grommets + U shaped grommets = ~ 1,88 g
    Normal grommets = ~ 1,01 g
So the difference is "only" ~ 0,8 g. I feel a difference, but its not so much. Especially the additional weight on my Arc11 is placed more in the top of the racket, what increases the swing weight more than the additional weight on the VT70ET.
Here are two images of my racket:

I was tempted to buy this as I string my own rackets and easily play about with the grommets but its seems a gimmick, I was disappointed that they will be discontinuing the Voltric 70 as that was a semi decent racket. Well that is what the local Yonex retailer was telling me, I am not sure how true that is.

    Kindest regards,

    -Ajay-

Even a little extra fraction of grams added on to the head of the racquet could potentially make a big difference as swing weight is literally moment of inertia. But anywho, here are some pictures. 20140929_192612.jpg 20140929_192654.jpg 20140929_192720.jpg 20140929_192735.jpg 20140929_192802.jpg

Ha yes a lot of ppl have said that. Definitely it looks better than the PG in my opinion cuz it's a whole matte white finish with small little details to make the cosmetic sharper looking. The PG is a very simple and subtle looking racquet.

I wonder if they used the same Orange parts for the Voltric 50 NEO

They say that the VT50 Neo has Tri bumpers that look very similar to VT70Etune

Maybe the VT50 Neo was an experiment in the process of making the Etune? :)

it has matte finish?? (same as the Zforceii?) Oh my, im in deep trouble. The only thing i didnt like about the VT70 was the paint job ( i know i know, but it bugs me lolz)

i thought this has the same glossy finish as VT80, but matte finish is just so much better, good to hear. Thanks

Wait.... it seems like the purple grommets only gives a more "solid" feel compared to the orange.... other than that it's the same.... in that case, I might as well get a Z-Force.....

But Z-Force is extra stiff, Voltric 70 E-Tune has medium flex.

No amount of grommet gimmickery can turn a VT70 into a VT-ZF:).

The ZF is as close to unusably stiff as Yonex has ever got, while the 70 is as close to unusably flexible (IMHO).

yeah, i can get decent to pretty good smashes with the VT70. With the zforce, it looks like i just learnt to play badminton 2 months ago. (too stiff for me).

With virtually no outlay - a big bag of each grommet means they can make each config to order (and charge labour).

£175 for a VT70 with special grommets? I hope people lube up first.

Correction, sir: a repainted VT70 with special grommets, and a suffixed name!
