Chou Tien Chen was fantastic yesterday, he played superlative badminton to beat Axelsen in style. TBH, since VA's OG win, among those who've beaten VA ,I'm most impressed by this CTC's victory over VA than even Loh Kean Yew's two-time wins over him.

Koki Watanabe plays just like Kodai Naraoka but a bit more energetic.

hey sites back on. here i was happy to be anticipating an VA vs LZJ final. lo and behold both crashed and burned in the semis. LZJ looked to be injured, dunno what happened to VA. he seems to have lost his aura of invincibility

Probably the aura of invincibility has finally been broken. It was dented by Kunlavut and NTY, and yesterday CTC went in for the kill:cool:

If only CTC were 5 years younger today, I believe he could handle both VA yesterday and then KW today without so much suspense.

Now G3 might be a bit of a stretch for CTC in terms of fitness.

You see, two big smashes followed by running the long diagonal and you can tell CTC is feeling the strain. Now 5 points have gone by...

CTC's reserve tank, where on earth? Hard to say...but I still think the younger man has the upper hand

As expected, Koki just has to keep the shuttle in play as long as possible for CTC to commit unforced errors

The way Koki was playing just now, it would be difficult for VA too, I think.

Koki Watanabe is a very promising player from Japan in my opinion. His did not falter against bigger and more experienced player, he was cool headed and confident.

Is she the same coach that coached Naraoka a couple of months ago? I remember Naraoka also did very well at that time. She must be a good coach.
