Lin Dan's first round opponent is Suppanyu Avihingsanon from who defeated Takuma Ueda 22-20 25-23. @Justin L any information about this player?
Supannyu is as good as Tanaongsak, if not better. Vastly improved of late. LD should win, but these days you'd never know!
I remember him as the Shenzen 2011 Universiade Champion. He beat China's Wen Kai in the final. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton_at_the_2011_Summer_Universiade
LinDan is not in good form. Being beaten by QiaoNadan last week. How much have LinDan won since 2012? 6 years, 5 Superseries titles.
Just checked that Suppanyu is 28 years old already, certainly not as good as Tanongsak and maybe not better than a couple of the Thai young up-and-comers, , eg Khosit, Wancharoen, Pannawit (lost to Takuma here), but more experienced. Even if Lin Dan gets past him, what about R2, Kanta T or Angus Ng, or the QFs, Vincent Wong, Anthony Ginting, HK Vittinghus , Shi Yuqi ? I'm doubtful.
Haven't seen anyone more passionate about Junior or College Badminton than you. Always a pleasure to hear you.
Since 2012? 1 World Championships Gold Medal, 1 World Championships Silver Medal, 1 Asian Games Gold Medal , 1 Sudirman Cup Gold Medal, 2 Chinese National Games Individual Gold, 1 Chinese National Games Team Gold, 1 All England Open Championship Title, 1 Malaysia Open SS Premier Title, 1 Japan Open SS Title, 1 Australian Open SS title, 1 Asia Championships Individual Gold Medal, 1 Asia Championships Individual Silver Medal , 6 Grand Prix Gold Titles, 1 Grand Prix Title. @tbgoh288 @lippro ...that's one hell of a decent career, isn't it?
Indeed, just counting from 2012, excluding the LOG, he's already achieved more than anyone today, except Chen Long.
Huh. I dislike it. The players are too far away and can't feel the speed. All England is the best in term of court camera.
this praDeb really just need to retire from super series tournament it seems.. abysmal performance as of late
