In my humble opinion, Li Xuerui is the most complete all-rounder, the best in terms of skills, if only her nerves didn't act up at the WC and the ROG'16, but , surprisingly, she was devastating in the all team championships.

She is still only 25 years old, born 24 Jan 1991, let's see what she can achieve next year, probably at the AE'17, when she's back from her injury layoff. I'd love to see her finally perform to her true capacity in the individual major championships in future.

I wonder what protein Hu Yun is taking ! He is still fresh when his younger compatriot is panting and sweating like anything.

Hu yun is a fantastic player. Emotion less , calm and composed. He is perfect gentleman.

Agreed. It also should be noted that Marin is still young. She has played in senior circuit since she was junior. Her negative H2H against other WS primarily is a result of her match before 2015 when she was not mature enough as a world player. For example, her H2H against Li Xuerui is 3-3. However, she always defeats Li Xuerui since their encounter in the World Championship Final in 2014. I guess, if we ignore her match before 2014 or 2015, she will have a better H2H against all other WS players. 2 World Champion title and an Olympic Gold Medal is an undeniable proof.

She is still among the very best that's for sure! And she has already made history in the Sport, able to challenge and win consistently against the chinese trio LXR WSX WYH

Well, I doubt there's any second thoughts about who is the best all-around WS. If only she was as strong mentally as Marin/WSX. CM taking the big ones, thanks to her extremely competitive nature and physical fitness.
Also, I agree with the fact that this has to be the best ever WS era, almost anybody can def anybody at her day. Hope for no more injuries and a fiercely-competitive 2017. this year was kinda mild, with RI and NO dominating first part and the youngsters the second.

Yes, Marin is physically and mentally the strongest.

But fans want to see techniques, tactics, strategy and deception too.

I mean how can we ignore her 2014 and 2015 H2H when she was already the WC'14 and WC'15 titlist.

If we go by that, then Chen Long in 2015-16 would've a positive H2H against Lin Dan. That, to me, is selective reading of the facts to suit our purpose.

I agree Marin is one of the best in the world, but not the best, just happened to be the first among equals to take the WC and OG while losing most of the rest PSS/SS tournaments to others.

If only Tai Tzu Ying is more consistent, she'd have won her fair share of titles.

Yu seems to be the weak link of the Chinese WD.

Steen Pedesen not commentating for the HK Open?. So used to hearing steen pedersen and GC combine commentaries. He provides interesting perspective on the technical aspects too. Feels weird without him.

The Danes are playing well while the CHN don't seem to be able to get their act together
