IMHO the NR 900 a far cry from the Ti 10, two different generation of rackets and two different feel.

I tried the 3U version with UM 66 @ 26 lbs. So far so good...... smashes is a bit slow (but that's expected of a light head racket), and fast in front of net. Control is excellent especially in front of the net. However, I having problems with drives and lobs - can't get them to back court most of the time. Maybe it's the string or the head lightness..... need a few more sessions to decide.

Oh yeah one more thing - the head is slim. As in "egg shell slim" for a badminton racket. Be careful not to clash with another person's racket because it might crack and even break the head very easily.....

Seems like all the yonex rackets nowadays are getting more fragile.

they just cant make it too hard or else the good feeling v the racket will be gone. Their material is soft compared to other brand but the feeling to the rackets getting real good, makesu felt like u can finally a"access" into the racket itself and enchance ur playing!

Thanks for your review. How is the defensive play?

    Get your own guniea pig:p.

If one turns up with Paul, I will certainly try to bag a go of it. However, I'm not in the headlight country at the moment, as I'm sure you know:D

I think suggested is 19-24 for any non head-heavy style racquet which typically has a chunkier frame but I've heard it does 26lb well, as for 28+ then your on your own.

When you say head-light, on the matrix, its not really the case - If anything its similar weight distribution as the Arc11 and as you mention control, (if you have an Arc11) how does this compare to that?
Ive seen it in the flesh and the frame thickness variations but havent played with one just yet.

Hi Mark. Not many here appreciate head light equipment like you do (did?). Have been holding on not to follow the impulse. Bought NR800 when its out. And sold it within a week after a few games. Hope this thing does much better. Wonder how stiff it is. Two main problems (to me) of NR800. It feels really numb and too light (not head light). Anyway, I'm on if they sell 2u here (too much hassle to buy from Winston). 2u head light .......come take my money:D

Best defensive racquet from YY. A little more power than NS9900 and more control. Slice is sharper and net is tighter.

The NR800 I found a bit dead, but the odd shot gave me a hollow "buzzing" sensation. Shame, because the NS9900 was a real firecracker.

I was talking to Paul about this earlier today, and we agreed that the NR series in general is inferior to the NS.

Not bad. Need slightly more effort though, being headlight and all.

Have to totally agree with you on the NR800 and the NS/NR sentiment. Even both the NS9000 are very good. Still waiting for a 2u appearing in Buy/Sell.

Now is to be patient for a serious review here on this new NR900. as long as it is as stiff as NS9000s and a 2u, im in!

Anywhere near NR800, I opt out.

Came across this earlier in the week, thought it was from badmintoncn so couldn't find it again until I just bumped into it again. Turns out I saw it on at700.com (where else [IMG]?; also some NSFW as per usual over there. The dark grey is a really great colour, it is the lighter grey around the t-joint area that looked so "cheap" initially but in some other pics even that doesn't look all that bad [IMG])

    Assuming these specs are unstrung(?):

Initial feel of NR900 after 2 hours play.

Strung NBG98 26Lb, one Yonex 102 overgrip on the plastic wrap.

Feels slightly heavy than 3U4G NZS, and heavy than 4U4G VTZF2.
slightly stiff than NZS, softer than VTZF2.

Clear: Easy to generate power than NZS and ZF2, relatively easy to push to the baseline just
    by forearm and wrist.

drive: better than NZS in par with ZF2

Smash: better than NZS, in par with ZF2

backhand clear and lob: way better than both.

I feel NR900's sweet spot is bigger than both NZS and ZF2 since both NZS and ZF2 can have shot off SP area which results in bad shots. Swing wise, slower than 4U ZF2 in par with 3U NZS.

    Comparing to NR750:
Clear and drive in par. All others better than NR750

I am thinking of getting this racket with a 3u weight. I used to play with the NS9900 but switched to the VT80 which is a cracking racket but my defence is suffering due to the head being heavy. I have heard from a yonex contracted coach that the NR900 is marketed as being head light but in fact it is not. Could anyone tell me if the head is lighter on the NR900 when compared with the VT80?
