Very disappointing. She should have given a walkover instead of showing up not-performing and finally retired.
Good. WS is over already. Finally, there comes what I have been waiting for. Atleast for a change, I want mr&mrs Adcock to win this match and title.
Wonder if Mr. & Mrs Adcock are ready. They were probably having their afternoon tea and suddenly called to the court because of LXR's retirement.
Not sure if he has won any GPG or lower rank tournaments but this is his first SS title, according to Miss Clark. She also said this SS tournament is the first in 2014 that CTC cleared 2nd round.
Perhaps she should have finished the match quickly if she didn't want to risk her conditions unnecessarily with another grueling match. Yet a WO was worse IMO.
From R2, we already can sense LXR is not at her best and physically stretched the way she was pushed by Mitani, then Chloe Magee in R3, and against Intanon whom she was determined to beat, she used up most of the remaining energy left. Today she was trying her luck and wanted to do just enough to win in the hope that WSX might not be up to it but when it proved otherwise, LXR decided to let it go. Don't forget there are still three more Superseries tournaments to fight for, one of them on homesoil for the Chinese, premiere event. Anyway, WSX has made her point loud and clear, from now on, both LXR and WYH cannot and won't dare to take her for granted with a view to the Olympics.
Adcocks should leave the 1st game and try from 2nd. Waste of energy if they try hard in the first after a big gap.
16-5 the first game is definitely owned by INA XD pair 17-5, 18-5, 18-6...what a one sided affair in G1
INA pair sealed it with great ease 21-9 in G1. Indeed the semifinal between the world's #2 vs #4 yesterday was the real final!
Just going through the motion to finish the match quickly will only infuriate the fans. They could see LXR was not giving any sort of resistance to WSX. Playing without any dint of effort is like making fans look stupid.
Don't feed the trolls. Those anti-CHN fans are just waiting for the slightest opportunity, justified or not, to make a hullabaloo of it with glee, never mind if they are behaving like particular irritants, they just need to release their pent-up frustrations or they will go bonkers. C'mon, whether LXR conceded a walkover or retire mid-way makes no difference to the ill-wishers. The fact that LXR showed up to play and only retired some distance in the 2nd set proved that she was pushing her luck to try and beat WSX but in the end reality forced her to accept the sensible outcome at minimum risk.
This is all OK justin, but you can't deny that this doesn't bode well for CHN Badminton. Yes all those things may perhaps be a reason, but the crowd doesn't see all that. They are absolutely justified to wonder about match-fixing and all that stuff. For me, LXR wasn't trying enough. I wonder if she will be playing in CBSL?
