Absolutely. Just one game in last 6 meetings against minions, that's worrisome stats, but we didn't expect them to survive till Sunday especially in such emphatic fashion, one more surprise (hopefully) isn't completely off the cards.
I said last year too after their loss to minions in FO Semis that this Indian pair will have to play more tournaments to get the real doubles knowledge and experience as our domestic doubles competition is in shambles. They need to train outside possibly Indonesia or Korea to get better. Kudos to Japanese pair. It takes both the teams to have a great match. It was a great match for us, not for them. But seriously, how did EndoWata save those match points and my God what defence they have. Makes the victory more sweet.
I mean nothing is impossible. Hope to see a well fought men's doubles final. If they win great, if not they are still on the right track. It will come sooner.
They wouldn't survive against kss if they still playing those flat lift when he's is at the front, gotta change their strategy a little bit if they want to win tomorrow. best of luck.
Also all-KOR WD final, who would've thought. And , of course, the child prodigy , An Se Young, through to the final. Sensational.
So who is LiLiu prefers to win? Someone who won 24SS or someone who will surely and slowly catch them, the up and coming pair.
i tend not to worry about h2h stats in the beginning of a player/pairs career against an established player/pair. you and your opponents are at different stages. it's a matter of when the up and coming player/pair breaks through to their next level.
The second game is more representative of the Japanese pair's skill and hence the quality of match was top level. In the first game, Shetty was on fire and probably stunned Endo / Watanabe who probably did not expect such a tremendous overall improvement in the Indian pair's game, especially after winning them twice in straight games. I can now see why they won Ahsan/Setiawan after watching this match.
FINAL (01.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...DB372B-3688-490E-A8A5-AED6CFBA192C&d=20191027 Indonesia and Korea have most number of representatives in final followed by China two and India, Spain with one each. A big whopping for Japan camp as none of their player reaching last round. AN-BELIEVABLE Women's singles new star is born and expected to soar into top 10 soon, named An Se Young who carving major headline and seized attention since shocked Tai Tzu Ying in Sudirman Cup, it's not one hit wonder as this 17 years old continuing to stun more fancied rival, Pusarla Sindhu, Saina Nehwal and the latest one defending champion Akane Yamaguchi. An pushed Yamaguchi who scampering frequently, the Korean could changed defensive into offensive shot swiftly in long rally, showing maturity beyond her tender age. The Japanese starlet was quite inaccurate including when it mattered most at critical moment and failed to force rubber games, 20-18. An will up against tough foe to create huge leap, reigning Olympic Champion Carolina Marin who beat the Korean last week in Odense. Marin eased past Tai Tzu Ying, 21-16 / 21-9. The Taiwanese clearly was off-form, struggling with her back injury that needed medical treatment when she facing Pusarla Sindhu at semifinal round. BACK TO BACK TITLE? More and more confident for Jordan/Oktavianti as the in-form Indonesian duo have found excellent formula to exploit real capability in Europe tour. They eliminate Adcock/Adcock, 21-19 / 21-12, only had little trouble in opening game and will face arch rivals, Zheng/Huang to clinch top tier crown. The Chinese formidable pair uncover difficulty to maintain their high level, lack of creativity and shot variation instead of unleashing fast furious smashes that could be boomerang if they met solid defense opponents who could counter attacking well that describing their weaknesses in first round also semifinal as well against Watanabe/Higashino. It will be revenge mission for world champions as they swallowed setback in DEN Open quarterfinal recently. MAGIC TOUCH Two miraculous comeback occur in fascinating semifinal clashes, Chen Long did marvelous job to reject Anthony Ginting brought the match into third game, 12-18 down the Olympic Champion fought back against the suddenly clueless Indonesians and locked him at 18, a valuable lesson for Ginting who often has big problem to keep focus throughout the match. More dramatic ending witnessing Jonatan Christie didn't commit any single mistake in his effort to grab eleven consecutive points and securing last round spot, 10-19 to 21-19. Viktor Axelsen was just two points away to celebrate victory but unlucky circumstances happened as the Danish poster boy got cramp and couldn't move properly, Christie capitalised this golden opportunity to play long rallies, lob that pushed Axelsen into hard times and couldn't endure the pain. Christie has negative head to head stats, never won over Chen in seven previous encounters but anything possible for this young man to break the jinx as the Olympic Champion said he's fatigue after wrapped up ninth matches yesterday. MAGNIFIQUE KOREA Korea women's doubles really gear up toward two paramount goal next year, Tokyo 2020 and Uber Cup after experiencing lowest condition and going downhill post Rio OG 2016. Kim SY/Kong HY and Lee SH/Shin SC also another two combinations Chang YN/Kim HR, Baek HN/Jung KE spread serious threat to rock Japan top ranked combinations, MatsuNaga and FukuHiro suffered semifinal outing were the evidence of Korea awakening who's traditionally well-known having depth in this department. Kudos for Korea coach team to transform the average squad become respected force. THE UNDERDOGS ROARING Indian rising stars Rankireddy/Shetty, champion of Super 500 level in Bangkok couple of months ago making brilliant run in Paris, the well-developed youngsters beat more established names Endo/Watanabe, 21-11 / 25-23 with good composure and smart tactic to tackle the stubborn Japanese. Earlier round, the underdogs stunned prominent duo Ahsan/Setiawan, it would be a milestone in their badminton career if they could scored first ever winning over dominant figures and the consistent Minions here. The Indonesians beat TPE suprising package Liao MC/Su CH narrowly, 21-18 / 23-21 and will aim another Super 750 title after JPN and DEN Open.
