AY probably couldn't put g1's loss behind her soon enough at the start of g2

I guess losing G1 when 4 gamepoints up hurt AY quite a bit but she got to get over it quickly. I thought she's experienced enough to handle it

You cannot just blame it all on fitness everytime though : ) all players have their ups and downs when it comes to physical state as the season is long. TTY, S. Nehwal, R. Intanon, N. Okuhara, C. Marin etc. All of them went through a period of high fatigue. At this level it cannot be just one ingredient missing but it’s a bit of everything. And the Chinese players did pretty good already considering their young age I’d say. HBJ did great this year. Sure she can always improve her fitness condition I agree but so can other players.

But I doubt you can put it all on fitness everytime they loose. May be it could be a combination of a bit of everything, including fitness. May be they also lack experience on big events, technique, coaching, etc. TTY is displaying great fitness on court but her success can also be explained by her technique, experience, deceptive skills and may be perfect coaching relationship. Yet she is still lacking a major title may be HBJ will clock soon, who knows.. So let’s give some time to those young Chinese players. It’s the little things that makes a difference at this level and it takes time to gather it all at 20 years of age. They’re on their way ;)

HBJ had better win it in two sets or I don't see her taking G3

HBJ's greatest shortcoming is her fitness, no doubt about it

Professional badminton player can not get tired as someone on this forum said. It must be all due to Yamaguchi's great shotmaking /s

That second game was not good advertisement for women's singles.

I understand what you're saying, of course, fitness/stamina is not the only issue, never is,except in rare cases like HBJ's , but often it is just the decisive one at critical junctures, apart from other aspects.

Say, Momota today obviously look tired in G2 aqainst Chen Long. And Momota is not known to have stamina issues, and all else being equal with Chen Long in today's match, accumulated fatigue became a disadvantage for Momota in the end.

However, generally, I more or less agree with the gist of your reply.
