These Korean pair has no obvious weaknesses, both can defend and attack, both can play front or back...

Just had this thought... it seems to me that Hendra/Ahsan had been very successful because of their quick and aggressive style of play. They play so offensively that most of the time opponents are forced into defensive play and sometime into error. It reminds me abit of CY/FHF style.

Was just thinking if their opponent has the ability to withstand their attack (i.e. strong defense), produce good quality shots, keep the shuttle in play long enough to find the opportunity counter-attack, what would the outcome be like. Today's MD shows a glimpse of what could happen.

Too many errors from Ahsan/Hendra. Ahsan movement is not as agile. But I think Herry IP (Ahsan/Hendra coach) said Ahsan/Hendra that it's ok to lift the shuttle. Problem is the defense is not good today although attacks LYD/YYS were not too hard. But LYD/YYS is sure dangerous pair. This is not yet their best as well. Let's expect rivalry in future. Congrats LYD/YYS.

Indonesia didn't lose because they are not in form. They played fine. Koreans just played better.
IND got tactically outplayed, and its mostly because the players/coach don't have a good idea of what KOR pairs weakness is because its their first appearance. That said, this KOR pair seems so promising because it has the potential to be a very passive-aggressive pair which is so dangerous as we saw today. Remember that the Koreans are still very underdeveloped at this stage.

I'm certainly looking forward to these two pairs meeting each other at next years Asian games!! That will be a fair representation of which pair is better!

I'm so proud of Lee Yong Dae and Yoo Yeong Seong.

Their first time officially playing together internationally and they won a SS Premiere and beat the World Champions.

Definitely not an easy feat. considering they also beat the WR#1 pair Mog/Boe and Koo / Tan who are better established pairs who've played together for 4 years+.

Lee Yong Dae and Ko Sung Hyun always had trouble against Mog/Boe and Ahsan/Setiawan. It was always difficult winning them and it was always tight the whole way. Today and yesterday they beat the best two pairs in the world right now.

Now, they just have to face Liu Xiaolong/Qiu Zihan who Lee had previously lost to (partnering Ko). At their peak, this pair is amazing and has beaten Ahsan/Setiawan in All Englands.

Of course theres still few gaps and miscommunications between Lee/Yoo, but their adaptivity, determination and communication/trust with each other was very strong and earned them a win today.

I can see now that Korea understands the importance of service/receive situation and stable mentality when playing against top pairs. Ko Sung Hyun is amazing, but definitely weaker in both these areas compared to Yoo Yeong Seong who is stable and very mentally strong and smart with his play.

Herry IP (Ahsan/Hendra's coach) mentioned that in this tourney they are trying new pattern with placing before attacking. I guess it's a strategy thus their typical offensive play won't be read by their opponents.

Yup. I heard during interval that Herry IP seemed not pushing too hard, and didnt give urgency. In fact he didn't encourage something like take the attack control or reduce mistakes. Just say "keep trying, that's ok to lift and it's ok if Koreans smashing."

The match yesterday against IR must have taken a toll on WYH, hope she can regroup herself soon enough.

The first half was good for WYH, the second half she was somewhat sluggish, not a good sign.
