What is that ? You fit your unboxing on top of the 99 ad? Personally found it strange although the racket looks good. Let us know if your racket survives the sinking issue .
Although I haven't used the 88s, I dont feel it is possible i.e. even 4u 99 would be head heavier than 3u 88s. I have just strung my 99 and man, the head is heavy. This is coming from a user who has used ZF2 3u for almost a year.
This makes sense as 4U should not change the overall characteristics of the racquet, so 4U 99 should be overall lighter than 3U but still just as head heavy.
Man I gave a few games with the AX99 on Sunday, didn't like it much if any at all. It seemed like a slower version of the ZFII, as well as a less powerful version of the ZFII. It's only upside is that it controls somewhat better than the ZFII.
Hi Parth. Not sure why you found it strange..? Its a simple unboxing video with some yonex footage to give it more charectar to the video I believe. Anyways your free to give your views. As far as the racket goes I haven't seen any issue sinking issue. I have VTZ2 and this. I have to admit this feels much tuned, smooth and swing is much faster and the smashes are more accurate.
i have a 4u 88s and 99, 88s is great and speedy, however observed limitation on its max power output. 99 is great for single, but slightly slow for doubles. Considering to get 88d, however cant decide on 3u or 4u? or 88s 3u?
In my opinion, if 99 is slow for doubles, 88d would also be slow for doubles. I haven't tried 88s 3u, but the 4u was too light for me.
@Montozuma I am sorry if you felt bad . I didn't mean to. The racket does feel good while swinging and has great feel. I am really worried about sinking since I have strung it at 26x28. Let's see. You don't feel the weight while swinging but definitely is slower than ZF2. A small review coming up soon.
Don't worry. If it sinks below 29 you can get it replaced. I do agree though that it swings slower than zf2. I can easily feel this by just swinging both one after another. The smaller head of the zf2 seems far more aerodynamic.
well, guess who just got another AX99... will be using BG80P this time. hope the sinking issues does not come as fast...
i alr sold my 1st one. for a reason we are all familiar with--sinking issues this will be my 2nd, PLEASE dont sink...
Everything they said is true. It is not an easy process and sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't. However, sinking is definitely a defect, because otherwise why do they have a warranty tension in the first place? Yonex can actually determine what tension the racquet was strung at. You should also not cut the strings before sending it for warranty claim, as the sinking should be visible without cutting the strings and removing grommets.
