Thank you for your response. I can confirm that the Kurenai that I just got is also a little bit head havier than the old colour.

Is the Astrox 100 zx the same racket as the Astrox 100 tour? Looks like the 100 zx is being discontinued and I'm not sure if I should buy 2 more while I still can or if I still have time with the 100 tour.

hello, may I ask an owner of 4U 100zz model to measure head weight of stringed racket? Like putting just the racket head top edge on kitchen scales and handle on some stable leveling surface.

I just happened to have 7 100ZZ Kurenai at my home and what's better to do with them than to measure their weight. (no, none of them belong to me)

These are all brand new 4UG5 with plastic wrap on the grip. so the actual weight will be 1-2g lower.

The 3 values are total weight, handle weight and head weight.

    86g 44g 40g
    86g 45g 40g
    86g 45g 40g
    86g 46g 40g
    86g 47g 40g
    86g 46g 40g
    86g 46g 40g

my scale don't go below 1g so the variation could be precision issue.

and I also have a 4UG5 ZF2, also brand new with plastic wrap.

    86g 47g 40g

They both feel around the same when doing dry swing. Which is surprising as there are claims that ZF2 is super head heavy, more so than 100ZZ. but not seem to be the case.

The top of the racket head is much beefier on the ZF2 so perhaps the swing weight may measure higher, but unfortunately I don't have a way to measure it.

Any 100zz users who experienced hairline cracks? I already experienced twice. And it looks almost identical.

Just procured 2 100 Tour pieces. Will drop a comparativist analysis between these and the big brother as well as my old favourite out of the range, 88s.

Does anyone know if Yonex is having problems with their production of the 100zz?

I've been trying to source the rackets from Japan (shuttlehouse) for a quite a few months and i always see no stock.

I just so happen to be traveling there for work next month, and I asked the shop there. They said they've not had stock for a while and that the manufacturer (yonex) don't have stock either for a while..?

Considering I only have 1 left since the other frame cracked, need to get 1 or 2 more... :(

Got Astrox 100ZZ Kurenai 3UG5 JP version. With string and Yonex AC402EX towel grip (original grip attached), the BP is measured at 285mm

i just got my 100ZZ back, didn't use it for months. i have to admit that this is an awesome racket. i've been using Ryuga 2 and 90 Dragon.

    - Ryuga 2 is the easiest to use, but lacks the "finesse" (i don't know how else to describe it)
    - 90 Dragon is the closest in terms of playing
    - 100ZZ *jaw drop* the whipping feel can be compared to none. i put more wrist and the rest is history. although my forearm was quite tired after several games, but so satisfying. to add, touch shots like netting and drive, i felt really confident (especially compared to 90 Dragon, not that easy to control these shots)

PS. i hit the floor once (hardwood court), i couldn't find a chip in the paint, bravo...

Not me though...I used to have three 100zz that I never clash with anyone...yet the orange paint on the Blue one, and the turquoise paint on the Kurenai one where it says 100zz were flaking off. Either poor paint adhesion or some sort of chips from shuttle mishits.

How did 100zz stiffness compare to zf2? Is 100zz easier to hit?

Definitely for me. The ZF2 is a sledge hammer. Now I'm 47. Was using the ZF2 when I was 30? Won't be using the ZF2 any more and I'm moving to balanced racket like 100X. Need to adjust timing of ZF2 and 100ZZ u will hate it at first...then it grows. But I gave it up still.

Are you a owner of a time machine or was the ZFII released beside the Armortec 800 OF?
