    Copy from Carlton?

Am I the only one to notice that all the "function" information on the new Z Slash is a blatant copy of Carlton's new Bi-Axial dynamics on their new range?

What do you think? Have Yonex actually copied another brand rather than been copied?

Going to restring it with Nano98 or Ashaway if I can find a shop that carries it here... since I have some Nano98 sitting around see if it works, went with BG80 becuase it's yellow and I used it on my other rackets... But just didn't feel right the whole night...

    @jasonvan
bro you have so many high end racket, and you really stung it with high tension..
i think you must be a good player, since you also can handle Panda Ultra prototype.. which its head heaviness and stiffness is on the extreme side...
yet, you said that Arc Z slash is really disappointing racket for you...
wow... i will stay away from this new weapon, until further information is released..
    hahahahah....

Any high end racket maker studies aerodynamics of the frame (and has done so for many years) most of them studies the sideways aero effect as well these days (I've heard this is done by Carlton, Mizuno, Yonex, Forza, Li-Ning, Victor etc.)... How much it is "marketed" is up to the marketing department i guess :)

    Cheers,

Are you familiar with how they do the visualization studies? For example: is the racket mounted on a jig where the fluid (probably air) flows over the body? Or, are the tests of the kinetic nature with human + sensors? By the time the racket contacts the shuttle, the racket + strings most likely act as a blunt body.

    Twobeer,

Has your racket arrived yet? Pls let know how you think it is after extensive testing. I did mine w bg66 at 28/30 and contrary to mixed reviews, I find it quite like Mizuno TetraCross 700 only faster.

As for finding the sweetspot, I think I can find it pretty consistently and I almost never frame the shuttle so no problems there. My swing is pretty swift and power is pretty good (not pretty hard, I must emphasize) so when I miss the "dead centre", the diminishing speed/power effect of the shuttle is not a big issue in my case; you know, it is just diminished but not too bad.

    Let's hear from you.

    Thanks in advance,
    MetalOrange

    Yes, very very powerful drives!!

Well.... as long as one's strokes are correct, they will love this racket.

It is really very powerful compare to my AT-900T.

I had sold away one of my AT-900T and will be selling away the remainder one. Will be purchasing another ZS...

    Thanks.

You are like a fan now of the Z. 900T is also a nice racket. More forgiving and great control as well. In fact i love the AT900 models both Technique and Power.

No, It have not arrived yet.. I am a bit disspointed as I actually did a pre-order (mybadmintonstore) to get it as quick as possible, but was told that the had desn of the first shipment and I had t wait for the second order..Kinda sucka, as I would probablyhave gotten it faster from Japan. The pro players here I know have not recieve Z:s either :-(

Okay, so me and the Slash got to know eachother a bit better yesterday. Put in a solid 3 hours socially playing players that are on my level.

I'm pretty happy with the racket. The strings are starting to settle down and I'm getting more in tune with the sweetspot of the racket and it's weighting.
YY is right though, this is a fast racket. Numerous times I swung at the shuttle too early I was getting to it that fast. Now I just have to speed up my footwork to match!

I've tried something new with the grip, too. Normally I get rid of the stock grip and replace with a Karakal PU Super, but what I've done is created an ever so slightly bulged centre section by wrapping some overgrip just in the middle of the grip, followed by the Karakal over. It's AWESOME.
