Yonex ALL ENGLAND Open SS Premier 2015 : Round of 16 (5th March 2015)

K Momota went out tamely 9-21 in G1 but came back to turn the tables on his opponent, M Zwiebler, with 21-15 and 21-16 to advance to the QFs.

LXR's recent injury has exacted a heavy toll on her - last year she lost about 20K+ ranking points, and with his early exit, she stands to lose another substantial amount, 9350 pts to be exact. Worse to come, as she's not playing in the IND SS which will cost her 7800 pts. It must be hard on her, the stress and anxiety.

Sun Yu may still have a slight chance in this Olympic cycle!! :)

Honestly I don't think it's such a major issue rn, Olympic qualification period has not started. It is best for her that she doesn't try to do too many competitions right now, heal up, and be at her best when OG qualification period heats up.

Chou TC is a very physical player, using his superb fitness and athleticism to bulldoze or grind down most of his opponents, his latest victim being Takuma Ueda, 14-21, 21-9, 21-17.

From the BWF records, LXR at the moment only has 9 tournaments (where the 10 best results count) with 84244 ranking points to maintain her WR1 status. After this AE early exit and skipping the IND SS , I doubt she can remain at the No.1 spot by then.

Right, she had better rest well, recuperate fully, recover her fitness completely and then regain her form to the top again in time for the OG qualification cycle.

The question is can WSX capitalize this opportunity and regain her WR1 status or will we have a new WS world no.1.

One SF slot for CHN MD guaranteed...with both Lee/Yoo and Ahsan/Setiawan out it is a good opportunity for them to take it.

THW actually had a realistic chance of equalizing in G2, he played pretty well, and Lin Dan had to dig deep to beat him, 21-19. If only THW was in the other half of the draw, we might well see him in the final.

Me too! i hope they can perform here pretty well but it seems like they are a bit fragil and with the others players who are rising that is not reassuring. Currently, WSX is doing well against BYJ i'm quite happy :)
