But I think LZJ was the fitter player with better stamina this match. LZJ was doing so many jump power smashes, way more than Laksha. Laksha started doing smashes without jumping in the second half of the 3rd set. I feel Laksha didn't have the stamina/energy to waste. Laksha needs to improve his fitness & stamina more.
Kind of yes. People in hills have to physically work hard each day, every day even for the basic things almost day in and out so they naturally have good stamina. But doesn't stands correct for everyone.

It'll improve with age. I can see he has gained power if we compare it with 1 or 2 years ago. Too much training will injure him at this age. That's how much demanding top level badminton is and I'm sure he'll improve his physical fitness as he matures.
Lzj has the chance to win but he just… switched off? Maybe too many games while LS rested yesterday? I don't know… Still can't figure out why so many mistakes. A point is a point. Fought hard to win a point and just commit mistake to undo it…

Yeah, if Laksha works at it, he can get better stamina/fitness. Viktor Axelsen had very, very poor stamina when he first started the Super Series circuit. You can see a lot of matches where Viktor lost because he just ran out of stamina. By last year, Viktor somehow managed to overcome his stamina/fitness issues and didn't look tired when he went to the 3rd set. And I think that contributed to him winning the Olympics. Anyways, this is something that Laksha can work on over the years, to improve his fitness and stamina. I already think he has a very good mentality for this All England, so if he can keep his focus and mental game in the future, all he is missing is the fitness and stamina.

LZJ was rallying LS in the middle of the third game, and it was working(of course he still smashes any short lifts, but he wasn't looking for them). LS was visibly tired during the long rallies and lost most of them. But it wasn't just long rallies = beating LS. LZJ was dominating and in control of the rallies, seemingly having plenty of time and staying on balance while LS was often in trouble. I think when LZJ suddenly realized he had a winning advantage, the extra pace and shot quality that he used to dominate the rallies disappeared. He started playing more conservatively, not as close to the lines, and that allowed LS to get back into it.
Very interesting to see the young bloods make their way to the finals. LS, ASY, Fikri/Maulana, Matsu/Shida are the young guns who are ready to rule the throne. So far, only XD still leaves veterans in the final.

It just goes on to show how stupid it was to not select LS for Thomas Cup team last year. On hindsight, I think it might have spurred him (in some way) to prove himself.

On the whole, LZJ has got a slight edge in his powerful attack and amazing defence but, however, lose out to LS in being more prone to error as he tends to get impatient and loses focus at critical junctures. That's one aspect he is till now unable to measure up to his mentor Lee CW. Indeed, it could have gone either way as Morten Frost concluded. Yesterday LZJ was devastating in massacring Momota in G1 with sheer power and speed but then as the latter wisely changed strategy to keep the shuttle down or flat and play the net more, LZJ was for quite sometime in G2 unable to adjust his game to it and duly lost to give us a decider. In G3, LZJ gradually wised up to KM's controlled game until the mid-game interval before he could reassert himself and play to his strengths to finally break down his opponent's resistance for a resounding victory. Frankly, at first when LZJ not only dropped G2 and was still unable to pull away in the first half of G3, I thought he would start to crack up knowing how Momota has the knack of pushing his opponents to breaking point with his filigree technique - think of what he used to do to Victor Axelsen et al. Fortunately and somewhat unexpectedly, LZJ, to his credit, was able to break free in the second half of G3 and unleash another round of his defining fearsome firepower to score an emphatic well-deserved victory.
