Ellis and Smith played really well. Good decision making in choice of shots controlling the rallies. Smith was really fast on the net
That, plus Marcus' decisive smashes. In contrast, Yuta had to work 2x or 3x as hard to make a winning attacking play. It doesn't help that he still has not rectified his weak smash.
Not Aya Ohori's best performance... I follow her matches quite a bit and it seems to me that she does a lot of unforced errors whenever she attacks. I wonder why she keeps attacking and never try to inject some different pace in her rallies to temporize her game. It's like she wants to score fast and I wouldn't say her attacking skills are up to par with her attacking ambitions. I don't know what others think but I think she has potential (like many others) but something is blocking her to reach that full potential.
Noticed Lauren Smith's serve preparation where she holds the hitting face downwards over the shuttle and then twists the racquet as she serves. Obviously it works for Lauren but I see Gabby Adcock has the same technique and I wonder if it's part of the problem with her short serve - seems over complicated to me i.e. service action should be as simple as possible as too many moving parts means more room for errors.
You think that's why she try to shorten rallies as as fast as possible? Because her stamina wouldn't allow her to play a more strategic/defensive game?
Her weakness low stamina and muscle power Her strength : good anticipation , timing and smash return When she is out of stamina none of her strength's work
Lakshya Sen producing some good badminton against Viktor. LS is lacking a bit of physical strength but great tenacity
