Is Hirota's injury really bad? I can't watch the match live but it pains me to imagine what the pair must be going through judging by the comments here. To add to the injury woes there is an added pressure on them since most of the Japanese players have lost their respective matches.

In all honesty though, are Jeremy Gan and Park Joo Bong going to get fired over the Japan mess....i sure hope not. I mean what would the players have been like without them?

Double's Doubles kill Japan. that is sad.

Also the Women's Double shout these days are worst than Marin's. Kim/Kong vs ChenJia is like >4x Marin.

Wow, Japan may not even get single medal this Olympics! Their last hope is on Wanatabe/Higashino getting a bronze in XD, and hopefully NO or Yamaguchi getting a medal in WS.

I would have thought Japan would walk away with at least one gold in this Olympics. Especially Momota, or one of the Japanese WD could win gold. And Watanbe/Endo was also a favorite since they won the AE this year so convincingly. But for Japan to not get a gold, I wouldn't expect this.

It's not over, Japan's WS can still get gold. But it's not looking good at this point for Japan.

TBH today has to be one of the heartbreaking matches for JPN ever. From Mastu/Naga flick serving too much, to Fuku/Hiro losing to Chen/Jia, Momota losing to Heo Kwang Hee, Watanabe matches with Higashino and Endo.

The pressure to perform might get to them now that most of the Japanese players/pairs have lost.

I agree. Akane Yamaguchi and Nozomi Okuhara has experience in Rio 2016 so I would assume they are confident in their matches and is consistent.

People care about screams today. Is it not part of the game anymore?
Are you also irritated when Kim/Kong, Marin, Seo/Chae or Cordon (the Gatemalan) do it ?

    SO FUNNY:rolleyes:

I just saw that last set with Hirota. She seemed to be moving okay. It's hard to say though, the only people that would really know would be her, her partner, and her coach/trainer/doctor. It didn't seem that China was picking on Hirota in the 3rd set though.

What a disappointing job by JPN. Seriously. Anyway.

I hope CL can cause an upset here too.
