Better late than never! Will be great for you canadians to video, then when we are seeing them win ning top tournaments like the past players are, you can see them before!
wow... those will definitely need to be videotaped... 11:30PST?? that's 2:30EST.... and it's exam season during that time... nooooo! :crying:
notice how i said "they will have to be videotaped" ie: i will have to videotape them and watch them after exams.....
BC, Shaw Cable: Channel 30, first show is April 3rd, in the morning at 9:30. Time to take out my VCR from the storage room.
well its about time that they show some badminton in canada on tv. i will have to record this for sure, hum last badminton broadcast was the athens olympics...lets hope that they dont stop at the world juniors 2004 and start broadcasting more tournaments. also i hope they actually show it this time...unlike that incident that happened on march 13.
WOW TSN IS DOIN A GOOD JOB!! after LIke 3/4 of the year then they show it on T.V.! I am very proud of it!! Gd job keep it up so other pplz will realize that TSN is useless
hmm... i have 1 hour to cram for this exam.... but these matches only last 55 min... oh well... 5 min to cram
WJC on TSN TSN replayed some of the highlights from the WJC this morning. In particular, the MS and MD finals. It was great to relive the spectacular action and to catch some of the crazy cheerleading characters in the crowd. All in all, I thought TSN did a creditable job putting the package together. They must have run commentary after viewing and editing tape... but sure sounded like the commentators were there watching live action. Also a great commercial on Richmond! MB
Although I commend TSN for putting on badminton, I must say the commentary left much to be desired. From the 10 minutes which I caught of the mens doubles final, the commentator literally said 8-9 times that "Oh that was a good serve." It was just a regular low serve. No big deal. There were a lot of uninformative comments and both commentators had a generally weak badminton vocabulary. But hey, it's badminton on Canadian TV. They're forgiven.
Beggars can't be choosers. Imagine if an Asian country televised ice hockey and had to overdub commentary in their native tongue, how that would sound. I can only guess the commentators were given a crash course in what to look for in badminton, and off you go. The "North American" style commentary was for the North American audience - at worse, the energy level made up for the lack of knowledge. I, for one, am just happy to get badminton on TV. Let's hope for strong viewership numbers which might prompt our sports networks to show more. MB
....BADMINTON ON CANADIAN TV....... I'm make sure i come home from school early to watch it. Good thing Thursday is flipped days at my school. I get home before the match begins.
i would like to ask if each of these are only half hour long? and "Sunday, April 17 at 1:30am" .... do you mean early sunday morning or early monday morning? or is the "am/pm" wrong? ty
Talk about ignorant. Just watched 2000 Olympics MDF Wijaya/Gunawan vs Lee/Yoo. The commentator was atrocious. Got Wijaya/Gunawan names mixed up thoughout the whole match..had to mute volume, couldn't stand his commentary. OTOH, give me the AE commentators anytime...
