Hey fellow stringers. I was wondering if anyone every though to changing the motor inside the Wise Tensioner. I currently have a Series 14, but I am finding it not as quiet as when first got it. It starts up quietly, but while stringing, its much louder.

I've taken it apart and checked the gears and they are well greased.

Any advice on making it more quiet or possibly swapping the motor?

It is a stepper motor. Unfortunately they are by nature noisy.

I looked into this when I took my WISE apart to grease the gearbox.

Sadly, the motor/gearbox is a combined assembly. You might want to clean/grease your own gearbox - that might quieten it down, and will certainly speed it up. I did a write-up, in case you fancy trying it.

Does the series 14 wise 2086 motor pull faster than the previous models?

Not really. If it does it in the programming in the board. The motors from the Series 12 and Series 14 are the exact same
