Again, Admin please help pin this thread for polling. Thank you in-advance for your consideration in the matter.

I have been writing to ActiveSg to consider re-openning the school ISH(s) for booking on weeknights, as the loss of these courts numbers does not help.

No idea why MOE and/or ActiveSG decided to stop all weekday night usage of the school ISH(s) after Covid vs before Covid.

Those who agree or support, please add yr likes or support here, so can show ActiveSG and MOH there is support for this request.

Or better still, please write in to ActiveSG via contactus@iappsasia.com to request for school facilities to be made available for booking on weekday nights.

It could be a few reasons. Maybe even if they utilised the courts 2 out of 5 days they were technically losing money from electricity, heating, and hiring of staff to patrol and then lock or tidy up once you lot were finished with it.

Is there anywhere else you can rent courts from? During Covid we had a tough time finding venues, but we found another sports hall and were able to play regularly when we were allowed. (UK).

If you check, all the halls are well booked - why you see 2 issues on the "pin thread" for this country. 2 different issues but the result is the same - big booking issues for those in Singapore..

All the public sports facilities are managed by a govt agency, ActiveSG which is under the umbrella of the Singapore Sports Council.

There is only 2/3 private facilities available for booking and these are pretty expensive - even so, they are fully booked for months ahead of time! There is actually a pretty long waiting list for those willing to take over as well.

For example, I live in the Tampines area and before Covid there were 3 schools available for booking on week nights. After Covid since the schools were not reinstated for weeknights, there is now a loss of 12 (3 schools x 4-courts each) courts every night!!!

LOL, you think you have it tough? In my area in HK, we have lost sixteen badminton courts out of 40 courts of public facilities. In another, it’s twenty courts of public facilities. The HK government uses the premises for covid vaccinations, PCR testing and holding in reserve as “potential isolation facilities”.

Government schuols in HK are not open for public booking.

Please note am asking for people in SG to write in to the authorities to re-instate the school facilities during week nights
