Hey dude, dont worry la. You have as much right to start a thread here as the person next to you. Its very simple actually, if whoever find your thread not to their liking, just dont read/reply.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this thread of yours.

The thing about these 'untouchables', they will never take it to you upfront as they prefer taking the back alley approach.
Take it from me in view of my previous experiences, to us this is just a forum to exchange/debate our views but to some, this forum is their life where they spend their productive time.

    Here's a pantun (you should get the meaning after reading it) ;);

    Apa guna kepuk di ladang
    Kalau tidak berisi padi
    Apa guna berambut panjang
    Kalau tidak berani mati

    Guruh berdentum bumi bergegar
    Ayam jaguh sedang bersabung
    Jangan cakap sahaja berdegar
    Hulur senjata kita bertarung

    Limau bentan di tepi tingkap
    Budak-budak melempar burung
    Harimau di hutan lagi kutangkap
    Inikan pula cicak mengkarung

Before I attempt to answer, allow me to relate to you a recent experience of mine.

Recently, as in a couple of weeks ago, I played some doubles (men) against another friend and his 58 year old partner. Before the match, I was like thinking, me and my partner being younger, fitter etc should have no problem against my friend (same age as me) and his 58 year old daddy of a partner. But we were wrong, we lost the game despite all the smashing and whatever we threw at that uncle, he just kept returning our shots.

After the game, during drinks we had a chit chat session and we found out that the uncle plays regular badminton, 3 times a week. He is a member of some badminton group that plays regularly at SBA hall. I picked up a couple of tips and one of them was it is not how hard you smash, it is where you place (when smashing) your shuttle. The uncle's smashes are not that hard but he places his shuttle very close to your body making it hard for you to retrieve.

Just like in football, its not about having the most powerful kick but your technique, fitness and most important of all, your ability to think.

Back to last Sunday's final, yes, I watched the game on telly (please I hope no one will tell me that I need to be in Shanghai and at the stadium in order to comment 'correctly' to their liking) and I saw KKK/TBH rained down numerous hard smashes but to no avail as the Korean pair just kept returning everything. The Korean pair have better technique, stamina and coupled with their mental toughness they switched from defence to attack effortlessley. KKK, especially in my opinion should seriously cut down on the fancy stuff because it aint gonna work against LYD/JJS. Furthermore, its the CO, he is not performing at the London Royal Circus with Bobo, the chimpanzee and ZeZe, the ape.

While we rejoice for having TBH holding the most powerful smash record, it is just another hollow achievement because when faced with pairs like LYD/JJS, CY/FHF & MK/HS, having the most powerful smash aint going to hold water if you cant convert or kill the shuttle.

maybe due to coolness winter time in China, the string seems to be a bit fragile. dont forget, winter hits China earlier than expected and colder than usual winter. furthermore, TBH keeps using his world record breaking smash to kill the opponents.... :D

alright, seems that nothing much to discuss about.

    thread closed.
    thanks.
