Yep,LD is the luckiest champion of all time because he never had to face his mental demons...never had to suffer in training... never had to save match points...no mental pressure....no burden of hopes....nope,nothing.

He was handed 5 WC, 2 OG and 2 AG Gold on the silver platter.

Only the holy creature of LCW deals with all that.

First, Lin Dan created and will continue to create his own luck as all true champions do.

Second, escorted or not, the Men's Singles match is a one-on-one fight, nobody helps anybody, the two combatants are on their own, fair and square. And you emerge the best by beating every single contender, no two ways about it.

By insinuating that Lin Dan's escort(s) somehow 'help' him to win or gain a significant advantage over his rivals is a crackpot, harebrained notion, not even a theory, and it outright discredits, nay, denigrates all his opponents who deserve better respect from their fans.

Why? Because it 's as good as saying that any one of Lin Dan's 'escorts' could frighten and intimidate his worthy opponents before he deals with them whilst, conversely, none of the others (ROW) could touch Lin Dan as they all turn to jelly at the sight of him. Well, if all those challengers just aren't good enough to even handle Lin Dan's sidekicks, how dare they throw down the gauntlet to Master Super Dan! No wonder LCW lost not only to Master Super Dan time and time again, he was later even thwarted by Dragon Long twice on the world championship stage.

C'mon, man, let's give your Mighty LCW the respect and credit he deserves. Without doubt, LCW is the unluckiest player of all time never to win a world championship because of his misfortune to be born in Super Dan's era which, incidentally, also produced The Dragon, Chen Long !

Almost everyone expect one of the top 3 will win this OLY. VA has way less pressure and is the dark horse. If he can get out of his group which I expect him to do, I would not be surprised if he wins it all.

VA who? Win tier 2 SS first lah, then you talk WC, then you can talk Olympics. His mental strength is not proven yet.

Ain't gonna happen for any underdogs in Rio, not when LD and LCW still playing.

I've actually narrowed it down to only LD or LCW as I'm betting against CL. :DI won't be surprised if there ain't gonna be any surprise in Rio. LD and LCW's motivation to get this one is at maximum peak towards end of their career. :)

Totally agree with you, it is LD or LCW for gold....only if CL gets to final and hit top form, at the same time LD or LCW is tired out, then it could be interesting....your racket bet looks good though:)

I'm guessing a repeat of Asian Games 2014 though, LD will defeat LCW in semi and CL in final. Already got the racket myself, too curios about LD's weapon tuning for Rio haha. Have to think of other one if I win:D

Yeap, I voted LCW and bet a racket and money on LD. (Just like Taufik said, if you have to put your money it has to be on LD).

I think only either of the two in my avatar will win gold in Rio. :D

I see. This poll thingy is only a joke to you :p.
I bet my precious books (War and Peace - in 3 volumes set) on Chen Long. Lin Dan is 'old' now, I have no faith in him anymore :)

Haha let's say I'm really 50:50 with LD and LCW. LD wants to hattrick and rake zillions of RMB from this achievement but LCW wants first gold for his nation. :D

Money doesn't matter for a wealthy man as LCW. If OLY golds buyable, don't think he would mind to pass his RM1M to get one :D

LCW's wealth mostly from his government so there will be criticism from people as taxpayers if he fail again to bag a gold. If you add the entourage of Frost and Hendrawan for him, that's a lot of money they're pouring in from him to win their first gold.

LD on the other hand works mostly with firms and corporations. Meaning more flow of contracts will come for him if he could hattrick but he doesn't have that kind of huge investment like what the Malaysian (government or BAM) are putting on LCW.

Do not overlook the young Victor Axelsen..
I do agree with LCW..but also do not forget the up and coming Victor Axelsen..LCW and LD are past their high in speed and power..barring injuries VA will be one of the last 4..
