Hello badminton fans out there. Wish you had excitement watching the latest Surdiman Cup.

I was thinking who should really be the overall best player of this competition.

I think Lee Yong Dae really deserves it because he shows enthusiasm and passion. His defensive play really helped Korea for mix doubles and men doubles. So, he's up to my hero this time.

    Who is yours?:D

No, he was not in top form at this event. Especially, chinese broadcasters hindered him with many interviews not to concentrate on the games themselves. Anyway he's still in learning. :)

LYD got OG..he is top form in this event..not easy winning 2 events in few days...just admitted that he lost to China players...there is no shame about it..he is still young and he is not DOMINATOR at all....

I need to mention this; especially MD is all of partnership that means a single player can't make it. Any players should admit his lost humbly and he did.

During the time Fu/Cai had full partnership through the military training, Europe tours, LYD couldn't play with his partner for a couple of months due to JJS's real military training. Even though they had little time to play again, at this even they beat all the giants Koo/Tan, the Danes(Boe/Mogensen), Hendra/Ahsan(I thought Kido will show up anyhow) in straight games. Even in the game against Cai/Fu, they were showing their consistency after loss in the first game until they were come back finally.

    That's unbelievable.

As I always mentioned, LYD is a player of intelligence - he's a quick learner.
Even to my view, Fu had especially improved a lot and they deserve the victory. However, I still go for JJS/LYD for their consistency in the power and strategy, all of Mens' Doubles.

    Cong to Fu/Cai. :)

I would say Fu/Cai were the players under the most pressure. They had the toughest opponents overall, and they delivered every time. Congrats to them for inspiring CHN

i agree with Fu/Cai. they were not the favorite to win against stronger pairs from other countries, and they delivered everytime.

lol imo best player of da tournament is wihtout question the 21 year old talented double specialist from korea, lee yong dae. He show great enthusiasm and great spirit in every single match he played. Not only that, his time on court is arguably the longest as he has to play in both md n xd events. and in every korea's victory, lee yong dae is key in providin the winnin points. and yesterday finals against china, lee yong dae show great stamina n mentality as he battled the chinese for a total of 6 sets in his md n xd event. reali heart broken to c him lose both matches as he reali inspire his team with his great enthusiasm n spirit. and if any1 realize in his xd and md's match, he was constantly trailin the chinese with a huge gap in scores. lee yong dae did not giv up but instead push harder to narrow the gap and nearly grab a win. Its really sad to c him lose both match as he battled so fiercely and with his no-give-up attitude. It'll really be a shame if his inspiring display on court and vital role in korea's victory is not appreciated. So, lee yong dae u'll always be my best player :D since he's like superman with endless stamina, i'll now call him super daeeee :D

I think it's undeniable that FHF has improved a lot in his gameplay and in particular at the net. I even mistook some of his shots for CY's. He still need some work on his defense.

For MVP though, my vote is for YuYang and LYD. Possibly LD but I don't think he's too pressured in this SC.

I'd vote for Yu Yang also, along with LD. When LD got his award, I thought it was for the best male player at the Sudirman Cup and was puzzled when there was no the best female player award to Yu Yang.

LYD is undoubtedly the hardest working players. But with two losses, it is hard to put him over LD and YY.

I'm puzzled to understand why everyone is overrating the time on court and the fact LYD played 2 matches...He played 2 matches because it was required of him, even if he had wanted to play 3...there were OTHER countries that also had participants which BOTH showed spirit and determination in the face of STRONGER opponents, AND played 2 matches as well...albiet, can't say the matches were as long, or as intense...but i doubt on court time should be one of the ratings...nevertheless, it's still an amazing feat if you think about it...LYD, LD and Fu/Cai should definately get some sorts of MVP...

In prevous interview, Cai/Fu claimed that their success rate is very very low when the match is dragged onto a rubber set. However, they have won 3 rubber games against some of the top teams in the world during this Sudirman cup. That alone is a huge achievement for this pair.

Agree that Yu Yang was the star on the women's side. An incredible player, a real superstar
