    Hello,

Unfortunately, it seems that the NBG99 is discontinued and yonex has probably stopped production.
Do you guys know which string is close to it?

For me it's quite particular as it's quite textured, still repulsive, durable and comfortable to use (quite soft feeling).
From what i know, there is no string from yonex which come close of it, so i really don't know how to replace it :(

That's a shame. NBG99 is a great allround string and sadly never got the attention it deserved.

You could try Li-Ning No.5 or maybe the new N68 (haven't tried that one yet though). No.5 checks all your boxes and imo just plays very well. If you're a clean hitter, this thing lasts forever.

There are both more slippery aren't they? I thought NBG99 had a BG80 level of roughness.
So id say zymax 68tx (not very durable) or adidas A68. Not sure on availability of adidas strings any more.

I'm going to have to go through my strings and feel all the textures again now!

It's a little thinner, but I'd say give Aerobite a go. That main string is something else!

    +1 for Adidas a68.
Recently started using it. Durable, slices are awesome, good amount of hold and okay repulsion. Also retains the tension well.

Not sure if it makes sense to suggest another discontinued string as a possible replacement. You have to be lucky to even find some A68 leftovers as of today.

    Sorry for the late reply

I've never tried BG80 Power myself but i've strung several rackets with it. It seems quite similar on roughness but it seems to be less durable than NBG99

Lining N65 we will wait for your review. So far I am able to get 10 packs of A68 and I see them in stock again. I am really enjoying this string more than lining no1 and exbolt 63
