hmmm... this reminds me of World chamipionship'2010 where both LD and LCW faltered in the earlier rounds.

Taufik and CJ took full advantage at those championships... lol

Yeah, it is the best opportunity for TH in recent years WC to win a Gold medal, yet he blew it..
Two times WC Champion would be awesome..

I think, it would be better to think about the future... Then go to the past....

Lin Dan is a honourable man.

Even if CJ was given order to deliberate lose he would deny it even infront of LYB. Even if it meant Chen Jin beating him going full out. It would make his Gold that much more valuable.

Hes already won everything there is to win, he is no longer looking to win, but to show perserverance. This is the mindset of a true champion.

Somehow I have a feeling it will be an all-China final.

I have the same feeling too. Although Chen Long didn't play well earlier this year, we should bear in the mind that the main agenda earlier this year for chinese team is to get Chen Jin into the olympics team rather than Chen long or Lin Dan to gain more points. I predict he will be in excellent condition and at his peak with all the training since Thomas cup and is the player to beat in the first half. I have no concern he meet Bonsak at the first match. I feels really sorry for Bonsak has to play such a good player in the first match. Rashid has doubt about the chance for Chen Long to get into semifinal. To me the chance Chen Long to get into semifinal is about the same as LCW or may be higher in view of LCW's recent ankle injury. I will rate Chen Long and LCW semifinal 50:50 with CL has psychological edge in view of LCW recent injury. Let us wait and see.

Chen Jin may also have a chance for gold if both Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei lose accidentally on the way to semifinal like world championship 2010.

You can be sure that Taufik will be smashing Lin Dan like crazy when they meet in the 2nd round. Saw an indonesian newspaper article saying that he(Taufik) wants to go out with a bang even if he meets LD in the 2nd round, it will be like a final match for him.

Will the one who beats Peter Gade in this Olympic be the gold medallist like the previous three Olympics? :)

If this is the case, then Chen Long will win the Gold Medal.

Hmmm..... quite possible. The big question is can Chen Long beat LD which he never beat before.

My prediction for the final is...

    Lin Dan vs. whoever

Everyone seems so confident LCW will get into the finals. Take into the account his recent injuries thats affected his training routine and progress. Not to mention his mental disability on the big stages. He had to take it to 3 sets to beat Lee Hyun Il in the SF in Beijing 2008. In his way are so many talented players - Simon Santoso, Shon Wan Ho, Lee Hyun Il, Kenichi Tago, Chen Long, Jan Jorgensen etc. He won't get to the final easy

But for LD. He will defs be there, against who? Is the question... But it is safe to say the gold is already Lin Dan's

And I'm not even a fan of Lin Dan...

One of the disadvantage when CL play LD is CL 's experience in adjustment of stretegy on the court. CL may need more guidance from his coach on the court. As everybody know there will be no coach if CL play LD in the final.

Odd against Lin Dan; I must win 2 consecutive gold medal! If not, I'm a failure.
Odd against Lee Chong Wei: 30 million Malaysian want the first gold medal from me. I got 2 injuries this year alone. I'm still having the phobia of those injuries especially the last injury. I'm not 100% fit because I didn't entered competitive match of Super Series recently due to my injuries. I have no teammate in single player tournament in this Olympic unlike Lin Dan (which will be Lin Dan advantage). I must climb 2 if not 3 Great Wall of China (Chen Long, [Chen Jin + Lin Dan]).

The non-technically record of 2012 between Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei: 0-1 (It seems Lee Chong Wei is on the lead). The fact that Lee Chong Wei is on the lead is because I excluded the match of All England because of Lee Chong Wei's injury.

You guys can define it. Basically, if Lee Chong Wei can kill all of these odd that are against him, he will be the best badminton player ever in my honest opinion. Although it seems tough for him especially those injuries that has reduced his fitness level.

Wish LCW all the best even it seems that he has quite a hard path ahead.Just take 1 match at a time. Hopefully he will able to go to the final.

I just notice that MS semi-final match will be played on friday while the final is on sunday. So it is an advantage for those who will advance to final as they will have a day rest. LCW all the best!
