Definetely LD, unless he felt symphatize to LCW due to ankle injured! PG would be out in QF and so TH & CJ.

He will be outplayed by Shon Wan Ho again. Even if he does beat him marginally, he wont stand a chance against Chen Long. Else if he faces Tago or LCW, he still loses.

At 36, how much more he can take from the blows received from all these top players one after another?

In past high profile tournaments when LCW was the favourite, he failed miserably. This time as the underdog, I hope his fortune will change.

If Taufik win the group and have the motivation and concentration against LD, i think he can win the first round versus LD (but too much ifs...). But i don't think that he can hold his motivation the complete tournament...

Don't know if LCW is fit enough to win the Olympics...

It would be nice to see when LCW or PG would win the olympics. Both never won the olympics and both deserve the title (maybe not at the moment ;))!

100 satay means 100 satay laa... don't over complicate things and take advantage of my generosity.

I just want you to treat me to something that I think is worthwhile eating knowing that TH will deliver on the final match of his career against his nemesis LD.

If you want we can make 200 satay bet... but not 100 usd...

Those people here who voted for their idol didn't get the poll. The question is: Who will be gold medalist? -> What do you think, who will it be? And NOT: Who do you want it to be?

I voted for LD. But I hope LCW will get the gold. In the final against LD :)

It would be interesting if Chen Jin would mess with LD in SF to try his last olympic gold-chance? But this seems pretty unrealistic that he would do that, right?
If I was him, I'd be that egoistic *lol*.

LD also should ask himself: "Is this the way how I want to get this gold? No f**ing way! LYB, let us fight for the final. I don't want a show match with CJ."

No one knows how much LCW is affected by his recent injury. It's been 2 months already so he could be at 100% but he could still be in pain while playing. Hopefully he can put up a good fight for gold.

nevertheless, he's not good enough anymore.

i would put my money on lin dan, no matter if LCW is fit or not. LD is the man to beat!

If only this were a thread titled, "Who do you want to win?"... In that case it would've been LCW all the way. But to be realistic, it doesn't look like anyone else will be kissing that shiniest metal other than LD on the final day.
LD has a better chance against LCW even if it weren't for the unfortunate injury he suffered! Sigh!!!

Since CHN already achieved their goal of getting 3 players in and to be fair to the sport, if the CHN players meet each other, they should be allowed to fight it out themselves without interference.

yes that was my thought connected with his motivation
he wont lack of motivation but he wont be able to compete successfully with the very best, but i didnt want to be an ass and destroy everybodys dream :D

i think lin dan can only beat himself OR LCW has a perfect match against him then it will be epic

That's what I wish for us and for these 3 CHN players. No, for all players! For a MS tournament without any manipulations.

But most members here doubt about this. Me included.
