Where to play in China

    I'm going to china soon and wondering where i can play some badminton?
    i'm looking for courts that has Olympic mats

    i'll be in Shanghai and Beijing

    can you guys also list some of the best courts in china?

    most play out doors. If you want indoors, you'll have to join a private club. Go to a REPUTABLE badminton specialiy shop; they'll be able to direct you. They're usually clustered in the same area, usually around the sports districts. Any taxi driver should be able to find it for you.

    uh...sorry, not true. Most people play indoors as it is winter now and very cold. Check out Shanghai Stadium as a lot of ppl play there. There's tons of places to play, it's just a matter of finding ppl with your level to play with. You can also check out the Wu Shu Guan near the Shanghai TV station.

    Yes I disagree with this as well, having played in Fuzhou.

    Once at a sports hall on the top of a shopping centre tower.

    Though when I was in Guangzhou there was a lot outdoor playing, but courts
    were aviable in the local sports centre, not a private club.

    hi Riceboy, I think I am a bit late to know this forum otherwise i may introduce some badminton club or website to you before you come here. I am Malaysia Chinese but currently I am working in Shanghai China for the past four years. I have joined a club name SHANGHAI INTERNATIONAL BADMINTON CLUB which was founded by expatriates from Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Philipines etc and indeed we have local China members too. YOu may find many avid badminton fans here and we do hire professional coach here.
