Hi i am new to the thread, I wanted to know which is actually the best place to play badminton. I didnt really go through the whole thread but william hingston seems to be the popular one. Is it still the case? if so when are the courts available and what are the schedules? Thanks
It depends on your level and location (or willingness to travel). If you are in the west island as your tag indicates then one of the clubs in the area should be good. Check out: http://www.lba-abl.org/ If you are really strong (level A or B) then Ahuntsic would be better, though I don't know if you can join them at this point.
The website doesnt appear to work, can you repost that website? I dont mind travelling, i just have a hard time looking for a place thats affordable
I just double checked the link. It worked fine. Are you clicking on the language button on the first page?
As per the lba website, there is one in Montreal West, near NDG: http://www.lba-abl.org/en/club_mwbc_enca.htm or direct link: http://www.mwcrasports.ca/programs.php look under badminton. You can also look on Badminton Quebec though it's not so easy to find the info you might need: http://www.badmintonquebec.com/
can anyone tell me what are the hours for badminton on the weekend at mcgill gym? and whether we can show up w/o reservation?
Schedules for McGill are posted each week here. Look for "recreational badminton" (not "varsity" or "staff"). No need for reservation. I think the drop-in rate for non-students is about 7$ for the day.
It`s hard to find a decent place to play in Montreal from my opinion;no matter what level you`re in and where you`re from.Locations, facilities, club styles, hours, prices and purposes seem weird to me.I think I`ll find one place eventually when I live here long enough.Oh,well, maybe not.I`m giving it up now.My shoulder hurts.
ill be in montreal from april 25-may 3rd, ill be there for a tournament thats a week long but might get knocked out middle of the week or earlier and was wondering if theres anyplace i can drop in to play at? im staying with my aunt and shes sorta close to concordia university on sherbrooke. if anybody has an suggestions of places to go that would be awesome thanks in advance.
Well if u want smash u can drop by YMCA Chinatown sometimes completion there is really crazy.Btw is the information in front page still available? This is where i play: Thursday: Cote-de-neige (25 dollar for year member 6:30pm - 10 pm) Friday: Patro le provost ( is 3 dollar from 7pm to 10 pm) Saturday:YMCA chinatown ( i play during 8 AM - 11 AM Cuz all the provincial player come at 12 and they got all field reserve ) Saturday: YMCA Peel (7pm - 9 pm a place just for fun the completion there is pretty weak and the terrain is very slippery )
Since you're playing at the Atwater Open there prolly wont be anyone your level around except at the tournament itself. Im pretty sure you can play with the players there during the day since tournament after tomorrow only start late afternoon and most better players not playing will be there watching the games.
My friend told me about you lol. He's playing at Cote des neiges, I wasn't there that night because I was volunteering line judge at the Atwater Open.
lol oh gezz yes it has become that, well maybe ill get to meet more montreal players next time im here hopefully that will be next year again.
