haha my short term goal is to 1. master my high backhand clear(tat means able to clear from base to base, FYI base is the line when in doubles u serve n it passes tat line it is out.) 2. improve my footwork. 3.improve my lifts.
Short-term goals... 1) Lose weight(to become faster) 2) Beat my coach( 23-21 to him is the closest I've been.) 3) Move up a class...(From C to B)
New short-term goal: -Film myself playing *properly*, and upload it onto youtube.. - This will then help me find more new goals, ie: to stop bad habits that I have not been realising that I've been doing.
My goal is to find the deep truth in badminton theoretical and practical, so I can train even advanced players in badminton. But I need myself to be so good that I at least can show all the strokes and moves correctly. Good material about badminton is difficult to find, so I hope that by being active in this forum, I will acknowledge some more background information.
Not just the truth, but the DEEP TRUTH!!! LOL Start researching top coaches and trainers in other sports. Understand why they are successful and adapt any useful methods into your own programmes. Develop a good set of principles to your game that can be applied to any situation.
(thanks to moderators to fix my little post-problem). LOL* - Don't you believe in the truth and further the deep kind of it... When you refer to other sports, I kind of get the feeling that badminton is still in a unmature zone concerning techniques, despite it's long tradition. Actually I thought that their existed specialist doing a lot of advanced calculations and research within this field to find optimal movements etc., but I am afraid that research have never existed at a serious level...!!! Every time I start to ask why - arguments seems vague. BTW: Did you know that Morten Frost (Old Danish player) did clear with thumb grip...
I agree, but not much fun compare to badminton...and some more will swallow a lot of water if i swim...coz I'm not much of a swimmer...
For a 14 year old kid like me, I aim for High School Varsity Team and then I will try to accomplish my biggest and most craziest goal which is World's Best U-16 Badminton Player. Hehe. I am gonna do it for one girl I like. It's all about inspiration. Hehe.
short term: stop talking myself down when im loosing, and gaining full confifence of my ability's short term 2: having fun no matter what happens.
1. Keep your mind positive even if score is like 18-4 2. Gotta keep your shots stable, meaning every shot gotta get over the net. 3. Never give up. Dive in for the shuttle if need to, run all over the court if you need to. Each point is important. 4.Play smart
My short term goals right now is: 1. NOT break the Arc10 I just ordered within 1 month. 2. Get into the game of badminton again (been away a long time and have only practiced one time since i got back (also, only played 1 year when I was at it the first and only time). 3. Get into the game and learn the basics like forehand, backhand, serving and smashing. 4. Start loosing weight. I have aprox. 15kg of overweight so it's a long way. I was hoping to lose 5-8 kg before next year. I always believed in a long term weightloss. Also im lucky, it was my girlfriend who proposed to start playing. She will be pushing to go play the times i don't feel like (like that will happen right? We will be playing 1-2 a week and I will be playing 2-4 times a week with a club. Wish my luck guys/girls, I WILL need it.
FIX MY CLEAR =] And the rest of my short term goals (in no particular order) are: - improve my horrible footwork - improve my smash - GET FIT Oh and, MuRRe, Good Luck! =]
i have accomplished one of my short terms goals already or well i will in a short little while which is to represent Trinidad and Tobago internationally which i will be doing at the Puerto Rico International next month (november) so got to keep training hard.
