I've nothing against golf. It is quite a tough mental challenge, above the physical skills you have mentioned. Very sport presents different challenges; just because someone doesn't play it or like it doesn't mean it's any less a sport. My personal opinion is the IOC voted for golf because of the $$$ factor. The IOC is a huge money making machine and this should continue to keep the coffers topped up. Also, as a squash player, I am disappointed it didn't make the cut. Poker?, hehe... I love it
Equestrian events should be erased from time itself, never mind just the Olympics. It's worse than watching paint dry (at least something's actually HAPPENING there); it's more like watching paint AFTER it's dried. AND the horse doesn't get the medal. Loosely, anything where people take it in turns (shooting, weightlifting etc) usually bores me, the excitment for me in sport is having the other bloke there competing with you.
